Thanks for putting this up, not a lot of resources on using Ozone... so very helpful.

I relied on friends to do my mastering with ozone years ago. The results were always so much punchier than what I knew how to do. Almost *too* good. But I'm happy to have learned some of this stuff for myself now. Thank you, Jeremy.

Dude, I got a decent, but not crazy expensive, pair of open back headphones and a headphone amp a couple years ago, and I actually found the sound space a little distracting at first, but it’s really amazing when used well. The example I use is something like the Barenaked Ladies first album... yes, the Barenaked Ladies. Their first album is mastered so well (to my ears), it really uses the sound space well, especially the non-silly songs.

Really good tips here. Got me to break out of my usual flow with Ozone and try some new stuff. Thank you! PS. Zooming while recording on windows is really problematic. I've run into same thing, or doubled + offset cursor. So annoying! I miss the smooth, clear realtime zooming that can be done on mac. Best options are stretching your capture source in OBS to give you a zoomed in area, or do all zooms in post.

Man, so I just used the eq match trick on a master I was already pretty happy with. The difference was like mastered vs unmastered. I know I already said thanks, but coming back to say it again, this was a game changer!! 🙌

Lowering the threshold on the limiter does not increase the amplitude of the song, that is just a side effect of it. What that really does is make it so the limiter is acting on more of the audio, it is the "threshold" of the limiter effecting your audio. To make the track louder you boost the audio going into the limiter with the second fader to the right, which increases the audio level that is being put into the limiter.

For a hobbyist like me - do you think Standard would work fine? Looking at them both on Splice and it's twice the price for advanced, and most of the tasty stuff you do here is on both. I'm not being a cheapskate, but, uh, I'm into saving money I guess...

I suck at mastering. For some reason either my bass clips or my overall audio isn't as loud as a song I compare it to on Spotify. I raise the volume and the bass clips I lower it and the overall volume of the track is too low. Im terrible

Don't forget to bounce your track to 24bit-6db before using it in Ozone.
