Honestly, I am on the verge of tears, because for the past week I was trying to create a structure for myself since I graduated to be rooted to a certain routine, and I was EVERYWHERE. So when I saw your video, I was ecstatic bc I felt there is a guide on how I can structure my life! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart Rowena, even as you were talking I was nodding along as if you were the bestie who barged into my room, and said, I gotchu🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

once you said theres no work in non-negotiables i was like “wHAAA-“ and then it hit me… of course i should prioritize those things over work :’) no wonder i’ve been so overwhelmed with all the work i’ve been doing for school, i NEVER block in the things i want to do for myself and always put those second :’) thank you for reminding me (even though it should’ve been so obvious for me, but aw well!)

This feels like a warm hug! I'm pausing the video to let you know how much I appreciate you! I am nearly ONE YEAR into neurological rehabilitation for a TBI. I have been working with occupational therapists and speech pathologists to relearn how to plan my week./life and it has been such a struggle. Everything has felt cold and clinical and you are changing this for me! OMG, I AM in tears. I am so grateful for the way you gently show us how to build a beautiful calender -- you actually show the steps - which is so helpful and your reflection questions to help us distill our non-negotiables. So so good. Thank you. Okay, I've got to keep watching and then watch again as I build my plan. Thank you!

This video came at such a perfect time. I've been wanting to revamp and fix my life schedule since I'm getting sad about not being able to juggle my time for fun things and passion projects. My main struggle was segregation since everything feels like a non-negotiable at times. Thanks for all the helpful tips!

Creating multiple calendars to separate personal, corporate, and KZitem work saved me so much time long term! I was also able to use it as a data analysis tool to show when I was productive most often, and when I needed to take breaks so I didn't burn out while working on my goals. Thanks for sharing these tips!

Thank you for this video. It has made it easier for me to lean into the Chronotype scheduling and energy management habits. The Dolphin which is a type A, perfectionistic and or insomniac/light sleeper type of of individual usually procrastinates during the day but works late into the evening which is literally me to a T. This video just provided a little more clarity for me so I won't over structure my life which was my original issue with Time Blocking since it felt to confining.

While it's still a work in progress for me, I've used this to help me create a system to build routines that actually make me feel good about myself. I still have some work to do to make sure I'm doing things that bring me joy and not just checking off boxes, but WOW have I made a lot of progress from the stringent methods I used to force myself in to. Thank you for sharing this and being so real!

Very helpful thank you! Key point, is use it as a system to fall back on vs a tight constraint - it can be both, but this is certainly personal. Having recurring tasks in GCal for me vastly reduces load on my brain and reduces overwhelm, as in Atomic Habits, once it becomes habit that part of the brain becomes free to utilise vs in constant engagement planning and replanning and jugggling in the mind. For me another key benefit - was just measuring all main activities in a week, something changed in my brain and I realised it was the comfort of just recording stuff for later reference if needed - vs trying to remember "what happened last month on Thursday, why didn't I get .. done" - Thanks Rowena

I think it’s odd for me cos a lot of society is trying to be ‘more productive’ or ‘less productive’ and because of my health issues and a bit of laziness added in I tend to not do loads in a day anyway. Slow productivity interests me cos I think it might help me get on with things that I haven’t done but it’s not super restrictive or toxic with the levels of productivity. I’ll have to test this out and see if it works with my fatigue levels. Always love the content you put out Rowena :)

I started watching your videos in 2018. I had just started working remotely. I found your videos super helpful so I started following your tips religiously. A year and a half later I realized I've developed massive anxiety because I've been trying to live a calculated life and when I fail, I blame it on me for not being perfect. I'm sorry but your content has done unimaginable damage to my mental health. I'm still trying to recover. Maybe it's my fault for taking everything too seriously.

I was trying to find a way to work on my non-negotiables even when I have plans outside of the house, and this video is making me feel so much calmer about it. I always felt like a failure when I couldn't follow through habits that I know will improve my life because of friends and family and unexpected events; but I feel like by scheduling time for my non-negotiables not only will I be calmer about when exactly I need to take time for myself, I will also have a system to go back to when I fall out of the train. Thank you so much, working on it now

The truth is that I also owe KZitem for developing myself as I am today and becoming a better version every day. I am always grateful for this and I think it is my turn to contribute value to KZitem, to the community even though it is still very small. That is why I just created the first video on KZitem in my life on the topic of personal development. Hope it will also help the community. Thank you

Not even 1/3 through the video and I’m crying. I always thought I had good work life balance but I just realized how I never thought of my personal time as non negotiable. I always thought of work as the non negotiable and tried to carve myself around that but holy crap. CARVE MYSELF. FILTER MYSELF around work, rather than allow work in the time around what I need to feed my soul. Wow....

yes! weekly for planning ahead, and also daily in case anything pops up / changes :) for getting a task to show up at different times, it may be more manual - create individual "events" for each lunchtime and have it repeat weekly
