Congratulations on being able to get some of those KZitem dollars. I don't know about the other folks but this was an inspiring video for me. Currently going through the process of rebranding and starting to scale up while working my 9 to 5 even though my day starts at 4am and ends at 10pm. Always good to see when grinding pays off for folks. Maybe in a few years I can actually pay myself for my time. Keep up the grind and good work. Excited to see the channel grow.

Excellent advice, work smarter - not harder. I used to wrap bath bombs in tissue paper, with a tag...The tag needed hole punching and a label sticking on the tag. Then I would wrap the bath bomb in tissue paper and attach the string to the labelled tag....it took too long! I have changed my packaging considerably and I design my labels online and print at home. It's so much easier. THank you for sharing the tips x

One other tip. Keep your soap bars the same shape and size. When you keep using different molds or cutting them to different sizes, you have to change the packaging to fit each style of soap bar. Unless you are doing something extremely simple like the shrink wrap with a sticker, you are going to have to make a lot of adjustments to your packaging which costs time and possibly money.

Can I ask a question about the body care care products? I'm an Ontarian too, and the thing that's holding me back from adding body care to my products is I'm not sure if we in Ontario have to get our products lab tested for contaminates/bacteria before selling. Do you have to get products tested? What health & safety steps do you guys have to take in order to feel comfortable enough to sell your products? Thanks in advance if you guys see this and manage to answer 😁

I think every soap maker goes through this. I am pretty sure that I have used every kind of packaging imaginable. LOL!!! What is doable when you are a hobby soap maker is not usually sustainable when you become a business. I was making batches of 48 bars at a time and wrapping took a lot of time until I stream lined it. Glad you found a packaging that works for you.

@@JerikaZimmerman Yes it is. I not only was doing markets and had a website, but I also had a shop and trying to keep enough stock for all of that was very difficult. My husband did help but he worked about 50 hours a week and I hated to ask him to do too much. But he did what he could. I was also homeschooling our two youngest daughters and had a herd of 6 goats to provide the milk for our soaps so there was milking twice a day and goats chores as well. Life was extremely hectic. I tried hiring someone to wrap soaps, but that didn't always work out very well. No one cares about your products like you do! Eventually we got the kids involved and made a little assembly line in the back of our shop when things were slow.

Thanks for all your videos. I am slowly catching up on them! I just switched from doing double label (front and back) to a single label (info on front and sides) so that I didn’t have to keep track and design two separate things for each bar. I am also expanding to body butter and scrubs and will make sure the same labels size fits those containers so I can streamline my supplies. I am off to check out the shrink wrap system you recommend. It certainly looks faster!

Are there any issues with bulk-mixing the ingredients and storing them at all? Like the liquids, if you mix the liquids in a big batch and then leave them in a type of storage container so you don't have to spend so much time measuring out smaller quantities when it comes time to making a batch.
