If you’re using proxies than why use 4-2-0?
@MABO
3 жыл бұрын
UPDATE: -I used to film in 4:2:0 so I can preview the files on my Mac Book. I switched to 4:2:2 for maximum quality now. -I switched from -3 sharpness to -7 cause of sony in camera sharpening makes the footage look unnatural imo -I changed the autofocus sensitivity from 5 to 3 -I am now using one Step Up Ring for my Filters instead of stacking 10 onto each other, thank you for mentioning the better solution in the comments :D -I am using the PolarPro Variable ND PMCK Edition 2.0 -I now have additional vintage lenses and a anamorphic adapter which I am going to use in a lot of future projects Greetings!

Do you leave details at -7 even while using the pro mist filter? And how does the post processing look like, any additional sharpening? Does the pro mist cause any weird artifacts while sharpening in post? Would love to hear from as I am trying to figure this out before buying the pro mist filter!

Insane footage bro. I’ve read you’ve changed your detail to -7, is this with or without using a pro mist or PM mist ND? And also, are you using standard or active steady shot when shooting handheld? 👊🏼

You're producing some beautiful videos but I think your expose for log is off. I find on my tests that since the A7s3 sensor is so quiet that over exposing by a stop or more is much to much. This sensor doesn't need to be exposed like earlier Sony sensors. 0.5 is more than enough. I use my Gamma display "ON" and Gamma display assist type to "LOG3" and expose to what looks good through the viewfinder. I also use my zebras to watch highlights and the histogram to keep my exposures on point. The A7s3 have an amazing sensor so you can discard many of the old exposure rules. Thanks for the beautiful work. Keep it up. And by the way, Sophia is hot as hell!! You could make a whole career of just shooting her.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your setup! I am looking to buy either Sony 24-70 f2.8 GM or Sony 24-105 f4 for my A7S III. I like the 24-70 for the lower aperture but worry that the range is not enough to film people/documentaries with. What do you recommend?
@MABO
3 жыл бұрын
I was struggling to decide between these two before I bought the 24-70 actually. The 24-105 is also a bit lighter and smaller with that extra range. But I deciced to go for more expensive and heavier for better quality and faster aperture. I am really happy I went for the GM. The 70 was always enough for me when shooting but depends I guess. I heard the Sigma 24-70 2.8 might be an even better option today :)
