I definitely feel this. I've been stuck in the intermediate slump for a long time and for some reason, it seems vocab and new concepts just don't want to stick in my brain anymore. Also, kanji and reading has become tedious as all hell. I sort of relate to the part of the video where Ruri says that even though something is your passion and you love it, you may not want to touch it for a while because of how much of a grinding process it can be. I want to trust the process but it's just so dang hard at times. Best of luck to you.

good tip! I tried to focus on watching and listening to what you said in this video, but I got so distracted by the background music playing around 7:20. One good tip from my experience is to remember to breathe regularly or take a few deep breaths after a period of time. I often hold my breath unintentionally when I'm too focused on a task, such as watching a movie or driving a car through a crowded city. my friends or colleague would think I was giving a long sigh and raise their concerns about my depression. lol

Hi Ruri, I used to try Pomodoro but didn't work for me either, I found that I can focus and study for more than 25 mins as I wanted to finish the topic that I was studying. Now, I find that studying for 50 mins, taking 10 mins break for 4 sets then taking a long break for 30 mins really works for me btw I've noticed that your voice is covered by the bg music for a few mins from 06:58, I thought maybe bc of editing. *Thanks for this video Ruri, you sound like a real person, what I mean with that is that you're not a T800 who can keep studying 24 hours per day without getting distracted, this makes when we hear you sound like a person who has his weaknesses and how to face them, but I want to say you what I learned from my art teacher and is focusing has a limit per day like the Bullet Time from Max Payne and when you get distracted your using focus without knowing so maybe that's why sometimes we don't have enough concentration for our works, keep making this videos they are very useful 👍* *P.D: In the minute **6:00** the background music sounds a little bit loud and doesn't understand what you are saying, but I think maybe is just me.*

Since I enjoy company (the presence of other people studying) a lot and I don’t have friends, I have been loading videos on KZitem of people who are studying silently in front of their windows with a few breaks (mostly slight rain is heard in the background and them doing their work). It has been really helpful for me.

Focus is an awry subject, especially for ADD people like me. The estimate for adults with ADHD worldwide is, at the lowest estimate, 2% of the population. Accounting for those who are still undiagnosed or haven't realised it, there are more people who are ADHD/ADD in your life than you might not realise at all. This means that pretty much every content creator that talks about 'productivity' and life habits do not do much to help people who are not neurotypical. It's just another means of procrastination. But you have a broader and more open-access attitude to offer people regarding productivity, which is why I like your videos. As well as the fact that I have a deep-rooted desire to be a polyglot which is what initially turned me into your channel lol. Scheduling. This is important for ADHD folks because we have an issue of 'time-blindness.' In other words, we don't have a sense of time that is in any way usual. Naturally, scheduling isn't a strong forte for that reason. However, the point you made about making time blocks at least gives you a broader perspective of the day. This allows me at least to go less haywire about what the hell I'm supposed to be doing now, later or after lunch. Scheduling what needs to be done can at least give you some direction. Avoiding the state of 'okay, what do I do now?' is vital. Arranging your schedule regarding people and separating study and play sessions is an excellent thing that can be universally adopted. Right now is 6am, and I should be sleeping, but I know I'm not going to. So instead of feeling like an asshole tomorrow I'm tidying up my room and doing laundry. Adapting yourself to do something *good and productive* to account for the fact that its *3am why am I still awake* - at least equalises things out. Regarding health, I agree - though sleep is a hard thing for me to control. But I can manage going on walks out, controlling meditation, etc. I don't think I can focus optimally in the middle of the day. I study better, as you say, when the rest of the world is quiet. Still, it's an interesting concept to study how I study first and then implement actions based on the research study of my own studying habits. Flow state is undoubtedly the primary goal. Cal Newport's Deep Work is a very influential book for me. 'A deep life is a meaningful life. Most people, especially ADHDers, can concur that using hyperfocus in a positive direction is the best mode for applying oneself in productive living. And one ought to endeavour to aggrandise and encourage the deep flow state, train it for a higher duration in longevity, less vulnerable to small distractions, easier to trigger oneself into and out of. I highly recommend 'Deep Work' to anybody interested in learning the art of focus and, most importantly, how necessary it is. Especially in this deeply distracted world we live in. Anyway, another great video Ruri. Think you must've made an editing hiccup mid-video with the BGM, lol. Or maybe it was intentional, to test our focus... see if we're listening :P
