I totally agree with you about Samsung not being ready when it comes to accessibility. Apple is the best hands down.

Hey! Great content, I was wondering how do you type? Wondering if someone with Stargard disease can use an iPhone and type.

Hey Alisha. What is it like living in Toronto with your visual impairment? Is it easy to get around on your own and does your disability impact your independence? I too have an inherited retinal disease and am now legally blind but still have a decent amount of vision left. I live in South Africa and will be visiting my aunt in May who lives in Hamilton. Because life isn't easy for disabled people in South Africa, I've been contemplating relocating for some time. When I visit my aunt I will try and get a sense of what things are like in Canada (even though it will be warmer) to help make up my mind whether Canada is right for me.

would like to share youtube playlists of audiobooks with a blind friend and have him be able to listen to each audiobook, determine if he likes it, and if not jump to next book, listen to it, and so on. Is this possible?

The arrogance of Apple (and some owners) kept me from switching to an iPhone up to now, but I must honestly admit that the accessibility features are really great and focused on the user. If my vision should further deteriorate, I guess I’ll have to review my attitude…

Spoken content is basically select to speak over on the Android side of things spearhead I love both but I'm gonna choose Android for one reason and that's because they keep the trigger button in one fixed area as opposed to IOS seems to wanna let that thing float and move around and the last thing he visually impaired person needs to be doing when trying to read his look for stuff.

Did I just hear in the beginning that you named your IPhone Luke? That is totally cool. My iPhones are named after girls and so is the iPad. Even my brief cases and backpacks are named after girls. My iPhone 14 plus is Ellie. She does everything. My last iPhone which was the 6s plus and before then the 6 plus those two were named Mayleetsa. Then, my old iPhone which I can’t believe is still running is Katie.

@@alishainc we just have to keep educating people on how it is to use a smart phone. It is not hard when you don’t have vision. I am totally blind and i am using my iPhone to its fullest.even at the bank and when I go out to eat. The debit card doesn’t come out anymore unless it is a place that doesn’t have Apple Pay, but the pretty Ellie girl is doing the work. She is a good iPhone. Love her to pieces. +

I’m double fisting a Samsung/iPhone. The new Galaxy has this 100x zoom that is AMAZING for us VIP folks that need to see something in the distance with a large bright AF screen. Accessibility does need work, but I much prefer the single triple tap zoom versus double tap with three fingers on iPhone. That said, probably still use my iPhone 80% of the time. Talk back on Android is just finicky as hell!

Glad 🙂 the IPHONE is making you feel less LEFT OUT to everybody else. If you got a change to talk to Tim Cook to improve the IPHONE to those who are LEGALLY BLIND - what would you say? I personally stopped reading most of my books on my phone because I found myself looking more on various social media platforms. Awesome 👏 video, hope to see more. 🙏 👊🏾🙏

happy you liked this one! I'd tell him to make the max font larger, allow the magnifier to open with the apple logo shortcu t and make all apps optimize to larger font (a lot crash or won't allow font to get larger)
