I have switched form Evernote to Obsidian for my notes and remembering of website content.
Totally changed how I capture information. I used to use delicio.us for bookmarks but link rot made that hit or miss. Capturing the content now and holding onto it myself means I can reference old content whenever I want to.
I use many plugins, which I explore in this video.
The AI plugins are what I am most excited about.
Obsidian is a note-taking application that allows users to keep notes on their local computer in markdown files. It also supports features like displaying PDFs and embedding images.
Another plugin is Obsidian Live Sync, which keeps all notes across devices in sync. A Google Chrome plugin is a web clipper which allows users to clip webpages into Obsidian for future reference. We can also use a Rocketbook, a physical notebook that can be scanned and integrated with Obsidian through Nextcloud.
Here are some of the other plugins mentioned in the video:
Broken Links: This plugin checks for broken links in notes.
Convert URL to preview: This plugin allows you to preview KZitem videos directly in Obsidian.
Omni search: This plugin allows you to search inside of PDF documents.
Paste image rename: This plugin renames image attachments to match the name of the document they are attached to.
Text extractor: This plugin is used by Omni search to extract text from PDFs.
Transcript KZitem transcript: This plugin grabs transcripts from KZitem videos and copies them into Obsidian.
