Simple... you cannot have effective integration without actual equality.

The intent was not to integrate it was for blk school: to get more or equal funding . The NAACP made the mistake of rejecting the offer that South Carolina accepted which was equal funding ..they decided they wanted full social integration... major mistake

The NAACP were fools for proposing integration. They should have accepted the equal funding. Nowadays, Black folks should be free to separate themselves from other racial communities, especially yte people, who look down upon them.

was it simply us thinking the white man's ice was colder? or were our communities decimated, leaving us with nothing, forced to integrate in order to have access to resources?

You have it right. The black community didn't fall. It was DESTROYED! Integration was merely a phase in a calculated plan. And our community will always be destroyed weather we are integrated or segregated. We must take the war to them. OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT!

PolakFury boy you didnt listen did you? he was saying that (which is very true) that toooooooooooooooooons of black people believe that white owned products, corporations, schools, businesses, etc are better than black owned products, corporations, schools, businesses, etc which isnt true.... not to mention that black americas were trained of years of enslavement not to value themselves thru the power of the dollar and we need to learn how to control the power/empower the value of the dollar and ourselves... MANY school only teach white history and if you get lucky they might even talk about MLK which tooooons of black adults still don't know his story because its been twisted and its right in front of you... he not teaching blacks to hate whites but how to love yourself and invest your empowerment....

Jesse Jackson telling blacks you are somebody despite them not surrendering to the obedience of Christ, is a lie! You are no one outside of Christ! Christ said a man must humble himself before finding favor with God! Jesus recognized the natural pride within a man to think he is somebody apart from obedience to God! Humble means to humiliate yourself with a low estimation of self worth! Before a man can become somebody in the sight of God, he must first recognize the truth of the matter that he is NOBODY!

On the other hand, why do you think that black business are any more worthy of my patronage? Black ice is certainly no colder than white ice, but I can say that black customer service is generally far worse than white customer service. It is at the point now where if I see any black female in a service role, I turn and walk away to prevent having to deal with attitudes, rudeness, and substandard service. People gravitate towards businesses that please them, if black businesses can't please people, don't be surprised if we patronize other businesses.

ContrarianExpatriate I believe in giving people a chance. I am intuitive enough to pick up on a bad attitude, poor service, etc., but I will not stereotype that all black females in a service role will provide me with substandard service any more than a white female would. Example, I went to a Jamaican restaurant and initially I had a bad experience with a older black female being stingy with the portions and we exchanged words. I did not stop going there and as a matter of fact, after that incident, she always hooks up my orders. I agree about people gravitating. What I will not tolerate is a business that got a hustle going or I need to present 10,000 documents, license and insurance to a potential black customer after the white man ripped them off and jacked up their property.

+4Is2See I agree most of our black women don't necessarily have bad attitudes but only reflect there surroundings. I don't think this is a gender issue and anyone who does is clearly a dumb ass prick and I'd be quick to give them a much needed punch in the face but rather it demonstrates and reflects the broader community

+ContrarianExpatriate those businesses need to have a service advice box as well as a means to report unruly employees to management. i understand what youre saying but thats mostly a cultural and economic problem. people who are impoverished and carry victim complexes along with broken family structures tend to carry themselves at a lower formal standard.

+Romeo Adamz no, i can vouch as many others can. hell you can google it. theres a discrepant number of black females who get into customer service positions and detract potential customers because of sourness (ive experienced it countless times in different states). its almost always ones from a lower class neighborhood where black females from higher class neighborhoods tend to carry themselves more formally and friendly to customers. this is mostly because people from more impoverished areas come from broken families and bad parenting on how to carry themselves in public around other people.

Pharaoh Nimrod But, you also have to look at who is training them on how to interact with the public. Most of these companies idea of customer service training, is put the worker on the phone or on the floor and learn as they go. When I was young, the utility companies, banks and high end department stores provided a 2 week training program in Blue Ribbon customer service skills for their employees. So if I call the phone company, Bell of PA at the time, I knew to expect stellar customer service. The same still applies today with Verizon. Good customer service is not so easy to find these days.

I love my people but sometimes you need to explore the world and different cultures. Why would I separate myself from the rest of society just so I can be successful that makes no sense. Every other race in this country is building and having success just fine in this integrated country. Why can't we?

Independent Thought They are building and enjoying successes because they practice group economics, which black USA does not. They can work in an integrated society, but still practice group economics to leverage themselves. Its the "integration" mentality, constantly wanting to be them, seek validation from them, work under them and build up their business. You're segregated whether you realize it or not, build up yourself and your own community.
