To integza, in your next video could you please make a turbojet engine but instead of using combustion to provide the heat in the engine you could use a heating element like in a kettle or on an electric cooker?
@rherydrevins

You mean like a spark plug, but glowing instead of sparking? A glow plug, perhaps. Someone should invent that.

@@rherydrevins I was actually thinking if everything is going electric then how would an electric jet engine work.
@tomclanys
9 күн бұрын
but what would the forced air be used for then? The whole idea behind combustion in a turbojet is that burning fuel produces a lot of hot gas that expands, and if you can provide more air then you can provide more fuel and so on.
@aabumble9954

@@tomclanys It would work in the same way as a turbojet except instead of fire and fuel it would use an electric heating element.

I don't blame you for not wanting to make a tomato cannon. One I have been looking into has been seeing how to 3d print a toriodal compressor, the initial compressor phase of a jet engine, if using EDF motor would you still have to work in a decompressor phase to keep the out put stable

3D printing a 3D printer is an important step in off world industry and colonisation. Similar to the current competitions to develop habitats that take advantage of in situ resource utilisation, I imagine space agencies and private companies would be very interested in the results.

There was a study done showing that you could make propulsion using a jet engine but instead of combustion it used microwave emitters. Ie: an electric jet engine. If you try this can I have a 3d printer? Since you said in this video that you don't get your ideas from the comments.

Have a look at veriable magnetic field motor, a BLDC motor that you separate the stator from the rotor to effectively create a field weakening effect but in hardware, I have ran into issues with my project so would be happy to see other people have a stab at it (ie please steal this idea so that I can steal it back 😂)

Steal ideas; they're free. You cannot patent an idea. You cannot copyright them. You cannot trademark them. They're free.
@RichardCranium321
9 күн бұрын
Wrong... You can absolutely patent an idea even without a working prototype. Blish principle was patented, because one guy realized he could abuse the patent system to swindle a bunch of manufacturers out of money. He patented the idea that different metals have different coefficients of friction and lubricity -- meaning any time 2 different materials contacted each other to act as either a bearing surface or brake system, he would sue the manufacturer for stealing his patent and then pursue royalties for every item sold in the history of the company, going back to his patent date.... This impacted nearly every industry during the industrial boom that happened as a result of WW1. Guns, Cars, Sewing machines, anything with a pulley system, etc etc.
@ShawnHCorey

@@RichardCranium321 That is not an idea. That is a process. Processes are patentable. Ideas are not.
@RichardCranium321
9 күн бұрын
@@ShawnHCoreyhe was approved for the patent before he had used the process to create anything. He was not the first to do it, but he made a TON of money in the 1920s simply by abusing the patent process. It's basically the same as China using all US patents to create knockoff products at 1/5th the price, Blish looked at other products and realized he could patent the idea of having 2 different materials next to each other. Chrome plating was a patented process, Salt blueing was a patented process, Nitride application was a patented process.... Blish patented a principle, an idea, not a process. It was the first real large scale abuse of patent (and copyright) law in America, now different KZitemrs are suing each other for violating intellectual property laws by abusing copyright laws to apply them in instances that should be patents. A patent expires after 25 years, copyright can last well over 100 years - just ask Mickey Mouse.
