This video provides a tutorial on the process of DNA packaging into chromosome. The packing of DNA involves the formation of nucleosome and chromatin. Nucleosomes are a complex of DNA and histone proteins, resembles a structure of beads on a string. Tightly packed nucleosomes form 30 nm fibers, nucleofilament. Further condensation of nucleofilaments form long DNA loops called chromatin fiber. Loops of heterochromatin further results into the formation of minibands, which then stacked in a central axis to form the chromosome.
The following topics are covered in this lesson,
1. Nucleosome
2. Histone octamer
3. Nucelofilaments
4. Euchromatin
5. Heterochromatin
6. Minibands of chromosome
7. Chromosome
