Not gonna lie...I'm pretty hit or miss with piloting a lot of your decks. That being said, I haven't had this much fun playing magic in a long time, and have never felt more confident in a massive/unlikely comeback against just about every other deck than I have with this one. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Very happy to hear!:) And don't mind it, all decks are kinda hit or miss on arena, it all depends on draws/matches etc. Had often completely different results, with same decks used twice 🤷♂️ And thank you for comment!:)❤🦥

Okay this deck is actually disgusting. Played it all night and went 17-8, ranked #235 on mythic now :D. 75% WR on the play, 68% WR on the draw. I personally removed 1 negate and added 1 more marsh vs the aggro since thats what youll mostly play at that rank (thanks Slickshot)

That's really impressive stats man, I hoped it can perform so well but didn't have time to test it more - amazing to hear it did so well:D Honestly, it felt like normal solid control, but with some insane upside potential, and good way to punish any passive deck expecting max emperor on that turn ;) I like negate, but absolutely can see this change ;)

If you want insane value out of your opponents deck one very fun deck to try is the jund analyst shell, but with gix as a win con. It's entirely possible to cast half your opponents library for free.

I played against a Temur deck that wasn’t using Worldsoul’s Rage as their win condition, they used all the mana from Virtue of Strength to use outrageous robbery to steal my whole deck hahaha
@SlothMtg

That's a good alternate wincon, especially as producing mana isn't an issue :)

The best thing about seeing Sloth's decks a day or so after his videos is you know the deck, and have a way better idea of how to handle it in opposition 🙂

@undahraadaundahraada5594 I usually change a few cards when I copy anyone's deck, have to update it for the meta you are facing and I like my land ratio a specific way. But I try to keep up to date on streamer's decks so I'm not blindsided by some weird new combo.

@@DJHaku12 Very true. Playing at the beginning of the month against a sea of wall-to-wall mono-Red means you can't play anything that hasn't been somewhat optimised against it :)

Hah, indeed, I sometimes run into my own decks too (remember the mono black discard) - but to be honest it really gives me advantage as I usually remember each card from it, to the point I can predict what they tutor for etc. :) One of the upsides of making the deck!❤ But I've also seen some beast players that are showing me how to handle those decks like a champ 🔥🔥🦥

here.is the solar.flare list i was.talking about sloth help.me.out with the lands sloth they work.well as.is but they need a.slight tighteng up at first.glance the conduit pylons look.wierd but they come.in untapped surviel.and fix our mana which is huge 1 bitter triumph 1 void rend 1 celestus 3 big score 4 illtimed explosion 3 abuelos awakening 2 unstable glyph bridge 3 campus renovation 1 might stone and weak stone 2 leyline binding 3 trumpeting carnosaur 2 phyrexian fleshgorger 2 virtue of persistence 3 colossal sky turtle 1 threefold thunderhulk 2 one with the multiverse 3 portal to phyrexia solar flare in standard in 2024 this deck is really good ive got to tune the lands if anyone would like to help currently playing 1 eiganjo seat of the empire 1.plains 1 island 1.otawara soaring city 1.swamp 1.takenuma 1 mountain 1 meticulous archive 2 shattered sanctum 1 underground river 1.raucous theater 1 elegant parlor 1 sundown pass 1 raffine tower 1 xander lounge 2 conduit pylon 3 mirrex 3 sunken citadel so i know at first glance this pile of lands looks wild but the surviel lands (including the conduit pylon) are great for putting our reanimate targets into the graveyard so we dont draw them almost like a discard outlet and pylon also helps with the fixing in order to play cards like sky turtle or void rend and still coming in untapped.... the sunken citadel not only fixes our mana it also makes your channel lands cheaper. its too bad the pylons dont have a cave version bc it would almost be worth running the cave that makes caves tap for any color instead of all the mis matched duals but the deck plays fairly smooth even with all the dif lands. with 6 sweepers and all the removal aggro has a hrd time dealing with you Nd once youre portal is online its a wrap and that usualy happens pretty fast mess around with it. the deck is really good

Looking at the Pixie Deck when you played Deadly Coverup, greedy guy has sacrificed consistency for higher value targets. The untampered list runs Guardian of Ghirapur for Sorcery-speed blinking, which, paradoxically, would make his higher value targets (Fleshgorger and Seraph) way more effective than the Pixie does. In effect, he's taken out exactly the wrong replay effect for the additions he has made. The fact that Fortune appears to be a one-of underlines my suspicion that this is likely a budget build, but without considering the trade-offs properly.

Those are pretty much your options beyond counterspells. I had the same problem running Sonio's Azorius build which does not maindeck Farewell (but does run March as a 4-of). As with most Control play it's about saving your disruption for the must-kill cards, no matter how valuable the targets you are given in the run-up to those game-breaking spells going on the stack 🙂.
@SlothMtg
3 ай бұрын
Appreciate it, nice to hear man :) Like talking about those decks a bit too much! You can stall surprisingly well - your deck scales harder - but farewell is usually autowin, if you use it late enough. Stall, so they invest as many cards as possible, then farewell and they won't rebuild in time
