Raghubir Yadav's acting is top notch. The part where he confronts the MLA and returns to the Panchayat office fully pissed is one the best piece of acting I've seen, so frickin' genuine! Among all the other casts, he truly is the GOAT.

@@sharathnarayan2715 Sure, Malgudi Days too. Where I think this show is more similar to Swades is talking to its target audience, Swades was targeted towards the NRI / affluent population and the youth to uplift the country instead inspite of it flaws Panchayat is pretty similar, they even had the character of Satish Ray which showed the targeted audience the reality, they would only like the village life for a few days but fantasize it being very organic / peaceful
@abhijitadyapith
2 жыл бұрын
No, Panchayat made me realize what the problems with the script of Swades were. Don't get me wrong, it is a great film...but at the same time it is loaded with too much feel-good factor which makes it seem a bit detached from reality (the Yeh Tara Woh Tara sequence and the hydel power sequence), social change doesn't work that smoothly in villages. Swades shows Srk (essentially an NRI) falling in love with village instantly whereas city-boy Abhishek takes time to adjust to village life. Also, Swades was too preachy. Panchayat on the other hand doesn't even attempt to preach through the protagonist. It all comes naturally. Phulera is depicted in all its glorious social and economic failings without preaching solutions to those when there are none. Swades (being great) was too Bollywood for my liking whereas Panchayat stays true to reality. Unlike Mohan Bhargava, it doesn't make city-boy Abhishek Tripathi an agent of social change but a fly-on-the-wall character to depicted village life.

My biggest takeaway was how organic the writing felt. Just like Jammy pointes it out. There was no punchlines, the dialouges themselves generated a unny and heartfelt laughter. I wished that Manju Devi would be a bit more active, but whatever role she played in everyday solutions made me content. The call back to the chair, uff💕💕. Rinki and Abhishek's interaction really won my heart, again not forced to lead us somewhere but just a fresh breath of air. The Siddhu dynamic was so so reflective. Speaking from my personal experience, I line in a metropolitan city and I was just like Siddhu a few years ago🤣 how stupid do I feel now.

I remember reading Rajeev Khandelwal's interview when he was doing a show called "LEFT RIGHT LEFT", he had said every show should have finite episodes, and he left the above show after the makers started stretching the storyline. That statement stayed with me. I had never been a fan of Indian daily soaps that started in 2000s and really I never thought that I would one day watching numerous series which have limited episodes. I really love TVF's work, and am a huge fan of actors like Jitendra Kumar, Shivankit Parihar, Badri, Biswapati Sarkar etc. to name a few. They have really changed the way we as Indians look at series/serials. I just wish that they make a movie soon.

It’s not heavy, it’s not flaky, it’s not forgettable. I can watch this over and over again. And just how genius was the way the series ended. It did not feel abrupt. That’s what life is. One of the best series ever, very first time felt a strong connection to a North Indian village, and it is like the village life is calling as usual. The best part was when Abhishek’s best friend gets so excited to come to Phulera and explore the village but soon gets bored and wants to go back to the comforts of the city. This is the reality for most of us. Hats off to the makers of the series.

What I really liked about the finale was that the writers continued to focus on established characters instead of some hyper national copout..... The way the officers talk about village recruits while Abhishek listens.... to the plate of food offered at the end when the four sit down in the office. The finale was such a refreshing take balancing all characters, hitting you like a breeze instead of a brick...

More highly talented local writers and actors should be found from Magadh region (UP MP Bihar Jharkhand etc) to get more local authentic atmospheric engaging stories, wheather for commercial or realistic content

When I first heard about the show, I had thought it was going to be one of those where every villager is a goon. Abhishek will have an affair with Pradhan's daughter, every other villager is gonna be lawless. Then Abhishek too will become a criminal in the process. Then a friend told me it was by The TVF and i just had to watch it. I was watching it alone, then mom came to the room just a few minutes of overhearing the show and she said I want to watch too. And we binged it.

Truly a complete family show. Worth watching with family and share the experience for lifetime. I had watched the season 1 with my father. Couldn't watch the second season with him as he's no more. But his memories remain with me from season 1. Last episode cracked me up and I was shedding tears. As I remembered how it felt when I lost my father. This series will remain close to my heart forever.

Panchayat recovered every laugh it had given me in previous 15 episodes in last episode. Has any other piece work in our memory had such a profound emotional hold on us? Indian OTT space hits an all time high with Panchayat 2. We may never know but this could well be the watershed moment in Indian OTT space in which most of the work will now be benchmarked against the brilliance of Panchayat.

I loved Vikas in the first season, but Prahlad Ji won my heart through his jolly/chill nature. As well as how he was concerned abt his son. I would’ve never guessed the trauma that was coming towards him. Ending scene where he breaks down crying saying “Lost my mother, father, wife and now my son. God has been unfair with me” it was so beautiful yet heart wrenching.

I kept checking KZitem over the weekend to see if your review on Panchayat 2 is out. This show truly left me full of wholesomeness which hasn't happened in some time now. Loved the fact they hadn't jumped into some misplaced rushed romance between Rinky and Abhishek and made the interactions seem natural and made us invest more. Truly fantastic!

Uttar pradeshi accent, behaviour, way of talking, slangs etc are most colourful and fun, so it should be used to it's fullest to make movies and shows localized and fun to watch, like in GoW, mirzapur, Gullak, Panchayat, Gulabo sitabo, and other North Indian small town comedies which are set in UP which we have seen, for this more local talented writers and actors should be hired

Mirzapur is a story which you hear about when you are sitting in a group during sultry afternoon in a village orchard. Everyone in that group has something or the other to tell about that main person who was a great Bahubali. Panchayat is the story which you see yourself and that is the difference. You connect more to what you see than what you hear

The finale episode does hit you. I absolutely loved the season. While watching your review, I held my thoughts over the mention of Neena Gupta's character. Yes, her character has been given the most importance when it was required the most. I agree, they don't make such shows anymore. But i wish , TVF does make good and good shows in the future ☺️.

The conversation between the dancer and Abhishek ,hit me so hard I felt like ,I'm in a pet cage😭. I went from being angry to humbled to sad 🙏. And also the scenes of Abhishek going back to his room and opening his books everytime he felt scared of the possibility of not getting out of his current job. This show could be completely unrelateable to the city folks but it's so real to the villagers and small town people, having spent all my life studying and training in big cities and now being stuck at my hometown ,it felt so personal ,I could feel everything Abhishek was going through

The last episode is by far one of the best season finales I have ever seen.... it's right up there with Breaking Bad, etc. Terrific writing and superb performances throughout these 8 episodes kept me hooked, but the last episode just delivers an emotional knockout punch with absolutely no warning, so one is absolutely stunned while watching it. You just don't realise at what point your eyes became so moist. Along with being so emotional, the last episode evokes a feeling of quiet pride in us, which is so brilliant. Faisal Malik's performance here is so heartbreaking.... one of the finest pieces of acting that I have ever seen. Also there's a very clever bit of musical storytelling in the BGM where composer Anurag Saikia integrates "Saare Jahan Se Accha" with the main title theme of the show and this takes the episode to a whole other level. More power to TVF....may they bring out more such awesome content. TERRIFIC, TERRIFIC, TERRIFIC.

Why tvf..? Why aspirants Why hostel daze Why gullak Why cubicles Why kota factory And why panchayat - the desiness and reality. Neither they need crores of vfx , action directors , stars(as we call them) nor the need downtown promotions. Tvf will come gently hold your hands and then gently travel to your heart and then grip it. The mind will be questioned always but the heart will have the answers in two simplest versions - joy and tears. With tvf you will have more of tears than the lols… Tears of joy, tears of reality check and the most important one of them tears for yourself because every now and them you see yourself in them.. any character be it the lead or a sub plot or even a simple dialogue can be you. The originality is always tempting because nothing is fiction, its all “us” just been showcased to us in a manner we know but dont want to see it. In the end Nazar na lagey humra tvf ko, Chahye to dui-chaar laauki extraa lagjaye… thik hai na sachivv ji.

TVF and SonyLiv are two of the best Indian series producers who consistently produce great shows that mostly tell more grounded stories unlike most of the BSs that Netflix and Amazon ones. They cater to the "higher society" and international audiences mostly which feels so pretentious.

This is the first Indian television show that I’ve ever watched. I was amazed. This is the highest quality show ever in its category. I wish it got more international attention! Spoiler: the ending of season two was stunning. I know many people must be sad but it is a sign of a great art when something happens in an artwork that you don’t want to have happen but when you look at it critically you understand that it made aesthetic, psychological, and narrative sense. Congratulations to the makers and the artists of this fantastic, fantastic, show!

I think what bollywood doesn't do now is capturing the innocence of Villages in India... I think Swadesh was the only movie portrayed the Village people's with full conviction, but nowadays bollywood only portray villagers as a dark, Violent people or they are portrayed as a funny uneducated gimmicks...for example if a character like Rinky was used in a bollywood movie, then probably her characterization will be either wearing khuunkadhh and immature or her character will be like a fierce one like sonakshi in dabang, which is not in the case how it is depicted in this series.... In this series the character of Rinki is not someone who would fall for a guy just by seeing his heroics / dialogue bassi..That's what masses connect most..hat's why these show's are hit.

Such well established and fun characters, and literally such AMAZING actors and their bondings with each other! Pure lovable series covering every emotion by its core and not a single episode without stomach paining humour! TVF delivered yet another mesmurizing Art piece with high Emotions, great performances, sweet songs and heart touching script. I literally didnt like the fact that it ended, but loved the part that it ended on a cliffhanger. A pure family entertainer! No nudity or bakwaas. You're right in the assessment that it is symbolic of the slow village life. They did not want to unnecessarily inject drama and theatrics for the sake of it. So sometimes a snake in the office being the problem is enough

@@TriedRefusedProductions Totally agree, village life is slow, TVF has done a commendable job in showcasing the actual life of villagers. I never felt at one moment that ohhh kya bakwas hai Aisa nai hota gaav mei.... Everything was portrayed well. Many times Bollywood romantize villages by unnecessary art elements. Patakha a movie by Vishal Bhardwaj has also showcased a village in actual reality. Other movies like- parched, swades recent series thar on Netflix are prime example. Finally creators are understanding that we need content that common 'Indians' can relate too.

Season 2 and season 1 both were pure bliss to watch. What stood out for me in this season was the sheer brilliance of the actor Ashok Pathak who played the character of Binod - the one who is trying to get a toilet seat from the Panchayat. His role is short on time but enough to showcase his abilities as an actor ! Hats off to the entire case and crew of Panchayat.
