Thank you for making this video! I was wondering what was inside these machines.

It is necessary to talk about the professionalism of the master, who performs the work, they must understand how the material is distributed inside the structure and know that it is possible to form traffic jams

In your professional opinion, how much more beneficial is it to use a machine vs. spreading by hand or take? Would I be sacrificing any R-value? Example, I just want to add ~3 bags worth additional insulation (open area).

In your example of 3 bags to an open area, just use your hands. No, you would not be sacrificing R-value in that situation. Machines are needed when you get into dense-packing, and/or for speed.

have you dense packed with this machine? only 15amp seems way to weak. However, i can't find any local rental places that have a 30amp. They only have this 15amp...

It would not dense-pack at first. The original blower is too weak. I upgraded the blower and it draws more like 18 amps or something now. And it can dense-pack and I've used it on jobs.

Does it make a difference between types of insulation per machine? Meaning does fiberglass need a specific machine vs green fiber and it’s machine

Will the blower still be able to push insulation through if the air hose is half the diameter?

Hi David Consider trading this machine in for a more powerful and faster Force/2. Great video on our 'baby' but the Force/1 does not have quite enough power to "dense pack'. You need a machine that has better than 2.9 PSI like a Force/2. Thanks for the video. Bill Jewell INTEC

Three things to check, maybe one might help. First, when dense-packing the hose must be retracted as soon as there is resistance. This comes down to technique. Don't let the hose stay in the wall cavity, in one spot, too long. Second, the feed-gate must be closed down tighter when dense-packing compared to open-blow. When I'm dense-packing the gate is open 3/4" to 1". Not very much. Third thing to check is the type of splices between hose sections. Most PVC couplers are thick plastic and create a dam in the hose. If you have PVC couplers, try replacing them with steel muffler connectors. These are much thinner than PVC to create less chance of the material damming up. Good Luck.

Awesome video thanks for sharing - is there anyway to rent a machine like this with affordable price for DIYers?

There are some rental places around. But not many. The big box stores don't service the machines and they are not worth your time. I've had some success renting from places that sell the cellulose, but more the family owned places. The other option is to call the manufacturer and see if they know of a rental place in your area. Here is one example: www.accu1.com/blowing-machine-vacuum-rentals-s/88.htm

Looks a little small the one we used was 30 amps 240 volts. Thanks for the information.

Yes, this is one of the smallest on the markets. But, the information still works. I've also used huge machines and the parts are bigger, but it still has blowers, air locks, etc.

Can it be modified for a higher psi? To allow for a dense pack?

I rented that machine. It jams a lot. I don't know, maybe you should use it with a wood chipper to feed it. Feeding it small enough pieces is a pain.
