This song, and Joni, resonates with me, still and forever, as I had my own “Little Green” in 1968.

Thanks for posting! If you have a minute, I posted a cover of Meredith Brooks. As a fellow music fan, I'd love if you'd check it out. It's on my channel. Hope you enjoy. Don't go too tough on me :)

Blue is an absolute work of art. Highly deserving of being mentioned among the greatest albums.

Little Green might be my favourite song ever. I really felt emotionaly connected to it since I discovered it about 10 years ago. Never could explain it why as it isn t a popular favourite. Later, I found out the backstory of this song and few months after I found out I was adopted and my inexplainable connection started to make sense.

I was 20 when "Blue" came out. The song Green wasn't hard to interpret, but by that time, strictures against unwed mothers were easing. Unfortunately, women in the public eye were more harshly judged. I was heartbroken for her, but not critical. She is still my favorite singer.

Thank you for the comment! I have to ask, what was it like listening to this album for the first time at 20 years old? Inevitably our relationship with these records is always impacted by the fact we are coming to them so long after their release...

@@DeafWithTheRecord I had already been listening to Joni from her first album, Song to a Seagull. Being a soprano myself, I wanted to learn all her songs. When Blue came out, I was totally in love with all of the songs, but the one that I loved the most was "A Case of You." It had some wonderful vocalizing and I did my best to learn it. Of course, I couldn't come close to that voice - but I sure tried.
