After watching so many speed puzzling videos I decided to time myself. It took me 2 hours and 32 minutes to do a 500-piece puzzle, but it was a collage (Wild Spirit by Galison), so I feel like it was faster than most of the 500-piece puzzles I've put together. I don't sit down and puzzle for long periods of time either, I did that puzzle over 2 days. I was doing an image comparison and did the puzzle you used in the video (Butterflies by Galison) and another similar puzzle (Fluttering Rainbow by Masterpieces) I'm surprised how much more challenging the Fluttering Rainbow puzzle was for me, it had 50 more pieces, but the fact that all the butterflies were identical just different colors made it so much harder.

So cool! Yea it’s amazing how a slight tweak to the picture can make a big difference in difficult. Love Galison puzzles!!

Thank you! As long as I’m not sorting by shape, I could puzzle forever 🥰

Love how you pile the pieces in the shape of a heart before you start sorting. I thought you were pretty speedy!

I enjoyed how you put this together. I also started timing myself on 500 piece puzzles after watching the world championships in June. We even entered our first competition. But overall I am like you, I do a puzzle to relax. Good video and I enjoy your channel.

I like to take my time and enjoy the puzzle. Some just take longer. I have fun with puzzles that have distinct sections. Puzzles with large sections of all one or similar colors, can be boring. You finished that one fast. :)

Distinct sections are indeed a bonus. I lucked out with the picture on this one - all the colors were pretty separate!

Welcome! For me, speed depends a lot on the puzzle’s picture - if those last 20-30 pieces were all dark it would take me a while too!!

It depends on the puzzle. Some are easier than others. Some three hours some 5 days. I don't care for time lapse. 😊🥰

You could say how long is a piece of string! 🧶 A great deal on how quickly a puzzle gets done depends on what the image is like. A busy complicated image would probably take longer than a more simple straightforward image. I don't bother to time myself, that's not why I do jigsaws. I like to enjoy myself, take my time and take pleasure in getting the jigsaw done. I finished a jigsaw today called Purrfect Plants from Gibsons. The picture is cats amongst the plants. The colours are a mix of pinks, blues and gold with some black and dark brown. The outside I left until last as it was pink with a thinner line of white. I enjoyed it but it wasn't one that could be rushed. 🧩🧩

So true!! I'd say this one was pretty typical of puzzles I usually like to do. I've tortured myself with the dark and solid colors a bit too much recently. The Purrfect Plants puzzle sounds lovely!
