Hey Guys, Jack Here.
Thank you for joining me for another TRC video.
www.therazorco...
Today I wanted to discuss something we get asked a lot.
Which soaps last the longest?
This is a multi-faceted discussion and I touched on all of the points in the video.
Firstly, what types of soaps are there?
Triple-milled soaps, creams, croaps etc.?
Generally, the soaps that have the greatest longevity are triple-milled soaps. They are harder and will typically take longer to finish in their entirety.
Another point I touched on in the video is whether soap longevity is important or not?
For the average person who has identified wetshaving as a way to save money and will only use one soap at a time, absolutely. For the hobbyist shaver who uses many soaps at a time - not so much.
Even if you're in the former category and you want to save money by shaving with traditional products, The biggest bit of advice I can give you is to not sell yourself short with the amount of soap/cream you're using. As you're learning, part of that learning is to understand a gauge how much soap you need to perform your shaving routine.
I wouldn't recommend skimping on the amount of soap you're using for each of your shaves. Use as much as you need to get a comfortable shave and enough lather to perform the number of passes you prefer.
Soaps that will last you a while:

Mitchell's Wool Fat
