Thanks for this info. Still a little unsure of which route to take. I currently have 4 online business which don’t have their own website. I use platforms like Etsy to sell my items. Not sure if to start an LLC for each or an LLC-DBA. I live in California so might be too expensive to make each their own LLC.

I wonder if I can file for an LLC on a different state from where I live and operate my online businesses from?

hi, is there any truth in what I'm being told about my terminally ill mother losing her medical\insurance coverage if I start a t shirt printing business at home? I don't understand why this would be. she's not working for me or involved in it in any way at all. b4 hearing of this I had already filed and was approved for my dba last week. I'm spouse to place an ad in local paper within 60 days for next step but have hesitated now because of these things I'm being told by ppl I'm not sure really know. I currently only have one customer (yet to make a sale); he owns a small local convenience store that sells blank shirts but no printed ones. I've printed my own shirts for a while now and figured I'd print some for him too for his store. why not. no brainer. I already have everything needed to do it. I currently work min wage part time as my mother's pca so if she loses her coverage, I basically lose my job as well. did I make a huge mistake trying to start this thing up? or is there some way to make this work? this has been my plan for what am I going to do after she passes. hoping to have it rolling before that day comes. please any help at all is greatly appreciated. thank you for your time and energy.

Hi Jack, this sounds frustrating! It’s critical that you get this answer right…and that means getting qualified advice. I would start calling attorneys specializing in health insurance coverage/loss. Many offer 1 free consult. That’s the only way you can move forward and have peace of mind. Any unqualified advice is really just an opinion. All the best!
