My father was a mechanic his entire life! When he finally opened his own shop I was 15 we had snap on truck there every week! But my dad had a lot of tools from his years! But there was always that one tool he had to get and it was just like this $20-$40 every week for as long as I could remember!! Having all the right tools saves time and time is money! But my dad was a mechanic for the poor people. The single moms, the elderly on retirement and social security, etc….So he didn’t book the jobs by the time in the books you are supposed to charge he charged what it took him! This made it to where we were always way busy! I was in high school and back then we got work experience classes so I went two periods a day and did LOF’s, Tune ups and brakes! That way the little stuff didn’t eat away his valuable time and in the process I learned to fix my own shit which as you know life experiences and lessons taught throughout life is what makes us men worth our weight in gold!! If your father or uncles any family member owns a shop, plumbing, electrical business I would recommend you start young with them and hit a community college to learn business and finance! The younger generation isn’t as mechanical anymore. Look at a construction site or a mechanic shop or plumbing outfit! It’s full of 50-60 year old men that have broken bodies! They were taught the skills but not the business side! Within 10-15 years these jobs and businesses are going to be hurting badly for workers and business owners to replace the generation x workers! Plumbers I grew up with now own their business and it’s worth millions and we live in a smaller area! So imagine in a larger city 10’s of millions if not 100’s of millions if you start now!

You made a good point about having the tools and being able to work. I used to buy from Mac too. After 11 years as a newbie, I had enough tools to carry me for many more years.
