I love watching your videos! I’m from Flint Michigan I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and so far I have had 2 ultrasounds, the first one I was already 12 weeks, the second I was 22 weeks. This is my first time being this far along and I am praying for safe delivery. Update: she was born the day after Christmas! My little 12/26/2021 I had a safe delivery, shout out to epidural I was doing great up until 5-6cm and I was dilating fast, I was doing meditations and breathing techniques and the doctors were really proud of me and were shocked with how good I was handling it, I felt up to a point my head and hands felt so fuzzy the waves were getting too strong for me to handle I had no other choice but to get the epidural bc I was scared for our safety, I’m glad I got it bc I’m a first time mom and boy that was really hard! Shout of to all the women that did it without it but those of you who did like me just remember you managed to deliver a baby out your beautiful body ladies! It don’t matter how you did it just make sure them babies and you make it out safe! ❤️

I am a 39y old South African wildlife veterinarian. 35weeks pregnant (first time mom-to-be)! Love your channel Kira. I am set against routine ultrasound (u/s) examinations and have had 0 u/s thus far due to the following reasons: 1. A simple google search regarding detrimental effects of ultrasound on a developing foetus reveals "there are no dangerous risks"; "there is no evidence that u/s can harm your baby" etc. Searching published articles on the topic also reveals "no risks". Alarm bells ringing! ANY medical procedure includes risks. Diving deeper into u/s physics: Known wave effects include radiation force, acoustic streaming, cavitation etc. These physical effects of u/s waves do not come without a real risk. The procedure might not be invasive, but the sound waves certainly invade the target organ - that is how the image is formed. Why are these risks not documented/reported/published freely wrt the unborn? If you walk on a bush trail and see no footprints, it does not mean nothing has walked on the trail. It implies that somebody "swept" the trail and erased the prints in order to cover up their own tracts. 2. Depending on your search "15-25% of recognized pregnancies will end in a miscarriage". This is an insane figure that seems to be acceptable? 5% miscarriages in any animal production system is considered problematic and requires investigation. Another quick search states that "it is not harmful to you or your baby if you experience bleeding after u/s". Really? I personally know a multitude of healthy, fit women that suffered a miscarriage shortly after their first approximate 6w u/s examinations. I know three women that experienced the cessation of their babies heartbeat during u/s which was obviously followed by a miscarriage. Coincidence is not common the medical field. 3. Increased activity displayed by the unborn during u/s (waving arms etc) is not cute, it is a sign of discomfort. Intestinal parasites (worms) flee away from the sound waves (and out of the screen/visual field) when u/s is directed at them in the digestive tract (gut) of animals. 4. Any decision in life requires an accurate benefit: risk analysis. I am convinced that the risks of u/s outweighs the benefits with regards to routine u/s exams. Food for thought. Each to his own. 5. Faith in God! This world offers very little truth. Ephesians 1:4.

Congrats on your baby! I hope you had a good labor. I was curious about this video for the same reasons - I had the 20 week ultrasound before I did the simple google search and learned of all the risks for the first time! We are told so much is safe out of hand, and not given the whole info - you really have to research *everything*. I've also heard the doppler uses the same technology and therefore same risks. My midwife agreed to use a fetoscope instead but I'm mad that I already gave my baby 6 "harmless" hits of u/s. As you are also a Christian you might have heard Rev 18:23, "For by thy sorceries (that word is "pharmakeia" in the Greek!) were all nations deceived". Food for thought! God bless you.

At my OBGYN office in Texas it took 3 ultrasounds to see the baby because I caught the pregnancy very early (at 4 weeks- turned out I ovulated late). After that I had 2 more first trimester ultrasounds, 1 second trimester ultrasound, and my final ultrasound is tomorrow for the 3rd trimester. The doctor says there will be no more unless I am over my due date. So it sounds like at his practice the standard is 5 ultrasounds! 1 - confirm pregnancy location, baby, and heartbeat 2- NT scan 3- check development 4- anatomy scan 5- final scan

Statistically speaking ultrasounds don't improve birth outcomes right? So why is it that they are routine practice at all ? And why can't medical providers offer prenatal testing while letting the mother know it's still fully her choice not to have it? I understand that it can be strongly advised for high risk pregnancies.
@CajunStork

I’m not completely set that the initial u/s should be routine practice. I would prefer to reserve it only for women without a known menstrual or conception history. However, I am a firm believer in the 20wk anatomical u/s, especially for out of hospital birthers.

From Athens, Ga - I am 15+4 right now and I’ve received two ultrasounds by my actual provider. My first one for EDD, and then I was rescheduled for a second dating scan because I had irregular periods and my dates were off so they wanted to make sure baby was growing accordingly. After getting the genetic testing done at 10 weeks, baby screened positive for trisomy 13. I got sent to a specialist and received the third ultrasound at 13 weeks. Turns out it was a false positive and baby IS healthy, but my specialist wants me to return for 1-2 more checkups to make sure everything is still in good shape. I’ll receive my fourth ultrasound by 17 weeks. And possibly my fifth if he decides to see me again by 19. And then I’ll receive my last one by my provider around 20-22. Then a 3D ultrasound in the third trimester. So due to the high risk, combined with normal appointments I will receive around 7 in total by the time babygirl is here.

If something is detected, can it be corrected while in womb? Also, are ultrasound 100% safe for the unborn ?
@CajunStork
5 жыл бұрын
It depends on what is detected, the severity of the circumstance, etc... I wouldn’t consider anything in pregnancy 100% safe, however I would consider an ultrasound a very low risk medical intervention that can give us a lot of information without direct harm to the baby. Amniocentesis, for example, has a risk of aborting the pregnancy 1:100 procedures. That’s a very high risk intervention. Ultrasounds on the other hand are not linked to pregnancy loss.

It seems what started as 'only when medically needed' has turned into gender reveals and entertainment purposes rather than true health concerns. I would be curious to see a graph of all the ultrasounds given against medical treatments given to truly help the baby. My guess is that would be a very small percentage. Very difficult to see reliable data on this.

Most insurances won’t pay for a third ultrasound without a medical need. It does not give a whole lot of information when the pregnancy is already going smooth. However it can be a helpful tool if any problems are suspected in the third trimester and at that time insurance would cover it.

I have had 9 ultrasounds so far. An ultrasound is done on every antenatal appointment.

Ultrasounds harm children. You don’t need them unless you want deformations & your childs developing tissues compromised. How many times is a due date off anyway.

Not aware of ultrasounds harming fetal tissue. You do realize it is not an X-Ray right?
@dav1djac0b
3 жыл бұрын
@@amberwilburn8648 prior to being used as they are today, they applied them to post lipo patients abdomen in attempt to emulsify/spread the fatty tissue around. Also when any significant source of heat is applied to a contained volume of fluid the pressure increases. Like a pot w a lid on a stove. Swaddling, cord clamping, delaying skin to skin contact and vaccines are also harmful interventions. It’s a very corrupt industry.

@@dav1djac0b Right I cringe whenever I see a video of babies getting their vaccine shots. Vaccines are linked to the increase in autism in children as well.
