My rough estimate is that the COP should have been around 2.8 because the oil filled heater uses roughly about three times the energy the heat pump did in similar weather conditions to maintain 22*C. I cant do a head to head comparison because the temperature outside is never exactly the same. PS: If you have insulated or wooden walls, expect lower power consumption, we have non-insulated concrete walls which absorb considerable amount of heat.

Hi charlie, brisbane, queensland, australia here, weel done, if you remember me, i had ask you about this agess ago. Kelvinator 7.1. I ended up running my aircon at 18deg on heat mode. I have solar on roof. I was quiet surprised i got some energy back in threw the quater. We can get down to - 3% and i shut all doors except bedroom door, it kept the whole house warm, nice and snug for winter. Yahh thanks for the info. 👍👍👍

Ah, that was almost a year ago! By Feb, the weather had already started becoming warm, so I thought let's do this next winter. Yup! Heatpumps are crazy efficient, I was surprised it only used 5.7kwh my oil filled heater uses almost 2.8 to 3 times that.

Working fine, these ACs are designed to last 15+ years, provided you do regular maintenance and keep the condenser clean.

There isn't much of a difference, a Hot and Cold unit is totally worth the power savings.

Hey bro. Ac service kisse karwate ho tum?
@TechGuyCharlie

I service them myself. It literally is just washing down the condenser with plain water, cleaning the filter and if you want to go one step further, remove the front panel from the indoor unit and use a coil cleaner brush to remove the lint from the coil.

What if you let the door open to warm the other rooms, can you do a test if it works
@TechGuyCharlie
Жыл бұрын
It actually works! I've warmed our living room with this plenty of times by leaving the door open, it still ended up using less energy compared to an electric heater. But it works because this is a big 24K BTU unit, might not work with a smaller one.

Of course it will work fine in a car garage, seen many households have mini splits in their garage. Just make sure its appropriately sized.
