She contoured to hide and highlighted (although not with the blingy stuff used today) to accentuate. Modern make up has normalized what she did. And while she certainly wasn't the first to do this, I do think her makeup look has been scrutinized and admired so many times through the decades that her influence on current trends is undeniable.
@FireflowerDancer

A Marilyn Monroe, styled in the fashion of our generation, would not look the same as she did then. There were several reasons for this. Beauty standards have changed. Clothing manufacture has changed, and the silhouette people pursue when they dress quite varied from what it used to be. Makeup techniques have shifted to suit modern camera and film. Marilyn may have been fashion forward and a trend setter, but her iconic look still represents something of the past. At the time women were supposed to be like delicate robotic dolls, and female celebrities were styled for the male gaze. Now, it's acknowledged that beautiful women are also strong, and an equal counterpart to men. So now big, meatier women with more pronounced curves are the current standard. Tanning and the 'Kardashian butt' are part of this more athletic look.

But guys there's a point. Her hair looks white in the painting, because at that time they used powder on their hair. Her hair is actually brown without the powder. So it's better to use brown hair in the photoshop sample.

It sounds weird bc no one knows who he is lol, but could you do a perfectly symmetrical Brian Williams? His face is super asymmetrical so it’d be interesting to watch

Brian Williams, the news liar, coward and hippocrite? Perhaps in a book of men who are wealthy, yet they are cowards, liars, and hippocrites.

Marie would be too ladylike for most of the "women" of today.
@earthtear9586

She had a taste for fashion, finery and a reputation for promiscuity. She wasn't the humble, coy lady women were expected to be in her time. I don't agree with her politics, but I think she would have been far more suited for this generation. Of course there will always be people like yourself who judge women not by their failures and accomplishments, but how they present themselves in public and what they get up to in the bedroom.

@@earthtear9586 No. I was referring to her femininity. Not her politics, beliefs or anything else you mentioned. Women act and dress like men now, and don't want to honor the differences in our biology. Both equally needed,but in different roles. Complimentarian if you will. It's getting to the point that you cannot tell men from women anymore, and visa versa. This is fallacy and lack of reality we are living in today.
