Cause you know about Corona & speak as though it was taught in school...& You speak of it favorably too! - I didn't learn about it in school because it wasn't fully declassified until the 2000s, but even w partial declassification, it was a CIA op & considered a miserable failure. 1992 you might have known, probably not until 1995... Plus...you're not good at reading flippancy. 2. Then you speak of the internet as a means to level the field, but you speak of your own home library and its cost. Those statements are a bit in discord; and nobody with a significant (or relevant) home library is calling the internet something that levels the playing field vs tangible, printed books...(?) 3. And your Diploma! vs your Degree... It's strange to hear someone reference their Diploma - usually, once you have your degree, no one wants to hear about your Diploma. Maybe some do with undergraduate degrees, but once you have your PhD, or your Masters...you learn quickly what your Diploma means - nothing. It's actually considered bad form to put your Diploma on your resume... So, Old Timer, what was it you wanted to educate me on...? Oh yeah, you were telling my Afghani peasant ass all the wonders of America... Please, continue...

That's quite a leap. It may be that FTL travel is just not possible, no matter how much money you throw at the problem.
@xanderellem3646
5 жыл бұрын
Well no, not really, the enterprise depending on the version can travel dozens to millions of times the speed of light and in some cases even teleport. Even if we dumped trillions into making an enterprise type ship, it would take decades of acceleration to build up speed to be equivalent to even a significant percentage of light speed a process that would have to be repeated every time you stopped to check something out and even if we could somehow almost instantly get to 99.9% the speed of light it would still take years or even centuries to travel between stars. The only way it will be possible is practicality is when we have starship engines that warp spacetime (so we could travel faster than light without moving faster than light; which we heoretically understand the principles of) but to power said engines we would need something along the lines of an efficient and stable nuclear fusion reactor which even a working prototype of which is still like a decade or more away let alone a refined version.

Light speed propulsion system A donut shaped accelerator on a starship would work by getting a ferrous based plasma up to speed then releasing it. However, to get the plasma to move faster than light the evenly spaced electromagnetic coil rings don't need to pulse in a step fashion faster, they need to be stepped differently. At first each electromagnetic coil ring needs to pulse, then when the plasma reach maximum velocity every other electromagnetic coil ring needs to pulse in a step fashion. Then when the plasma reach maximum velocity every third electromagnetic coil ring needs to pulse in a step fashion... so on and so forth. Once the plasma is up to the desired speed it can be released into a straight tube and directed out the back of the ship. In order to maintain balance the ship would need two accelerators, each moving the plasma in opposite directions. This was discovered in another dimension while I was in something similar to a electromagnet coil ring accelerator. Propelling a space vessel faster than light speed (This can only be done in the vacuum of space) 1st, we need to have a 10 to 20 foot diameter pipe line, formed into a 5 to 10 mile in diameter circle or donut shape. 2nd, there would need to be independently powered electromagnetic coils wrapped around the pipe which would be evenly spaced. 3rd, we would need to build a bullet shaped space vessel made of a ferrous metal alloy with its own electromagnetic pulse generator The vessel would need to travel around through the pipeline several times until it got up to light speed. Once the vessel reaches light speed it can be released into a straight tube that is pointed in the direction we wanted the vessel to go. This can be accomplished by each electromagnet producing a magnetic pulse which will propel the vessel forward and just beyond the next electromagnet which will fire the next magnetic pulse. As the accelerator’s electromagnetic pulse occurs so does the magnetic pulse generator in the vessel In Phase 1, each accelerator’s electromagnetic needs to pulse to gets the vessel to maximum potential In Phase 2, every other electromagnet in the accelerator needs to pulse to get the vessel to to its next maximum potential velocity. In phase 3 every third electromagnet needs to pulse to get the vessel to its next maximum potential velocity. In Phase 4 each forth electromagnet needs to pulse to get the vessel to its next maximum potential which is limited only by its structural integrity. Structural integrity can be increased by jelling the inside of the ship.

Moon is an excellent training ground for long time missions, as well rich in resources for all kinds purposes. Cheapest would be automated pods that could scoop large amounts of moondust, heat some of it and make fuel, and then deliver the sand to orbital station with foundry or back to earth. Simultaneously it would be ideal to have processing plants on moon also, so that at least later heavier metals like steel can be hauled a lot cheaper in large amounts to orbit than from earth, gradually taking a hefty chunk from earth's own steel markets also, same naturally with other metals.

It would be nice if all these changing administrations could keep some consistency in mission goals across the decades so we can make more, and at times tangible, progress. Even if NASA can repurpose and use technology and resources from missions scrapped by new administrations, there’s an inherent loss and waste of time, money and resources (time being the big one) every time a mission is scrapped and they have to go to the drawing board for something new. It’s a waste every time a project is cancelled halfway through for political reasons and not technical.

WOW!...The Problem is there are 2 Different Space Programs going on here Simultaneously!...One is in the Public Domain (NASA) and the other is in the Secret Domain aka The Secret Space Program!...But Both Controlled by the Military Industrial Complex aka MIC! Back in the 1950's there was a Man by the name of William Tompkins who worked for Douglas Aircraft Company and the U.S. Navy Secret Space Program! He Helped Design the U.S. Navy Secret Deep Space Battle Fleet!...Referred to sometimes as "Solar Warden"!...These Starships (Starship Carriers and Starship Battle Cruisers) where Launched back in the 1980's! Another Man back in the 1980's by the name of Ben Rich a former Director for Lockheed Martin Skunkworks!...Also said "that we now have the Technology to take ET Home!"..."We have Surpass the Technology of Star Trek and Star Wars, but it would take an act of God to Pyre it out of the Hands who wants to keep it Secret and away from the General Public!" We are about 3000 years +/- More Advanced in Space Technology than 99% of the 8 Billion Population of Earth has a Clue About! NASA Ought to ask the Scientists, Engineers, Designers and others of the Secret Space Program for Help!...We already have Secret Futuristic Space Stations that are Cloaked Orbiting around our Planet and other Planets within our own Solar System and outside our Solar System! We already have Bases on the Moon, Mars and other Planets in our Solar System and Outside!...Mostly Built Underground and Cities as well! The Secret Space Program is Well Beyond Deep Space Technology including Time Travel, Teleportation and all kinds of Exotic Propulsion Systems that will Blow your Mind like the "Speed of Thought" that is beyond the Speed of Light!...I am Just Saying!...God Bless America! 😇

nothing is impossible, just unlikely or improbable. The trick is to find a way to reduce the probability of something not being, down to the point where it can be, using knowledge and "i wonder if we tried this instead" and "you know what we COULD do".

Yes. There are 3d printers able to work with melting metal. And are use specifically for odd shaped items like spacecraft.

I remember watching a documentary a while back with one of NASA's scientist being very frustrated and angry after spending billions of dollars and time on projects for the last 30 years+ that keeps getting cancelled every time there's a new President in office.

"This part of the system here will be the propulsion element for Gateway" That sentence didn't age well since MAXAR now in charge for developing the power proplusion elements for gateway

MAXAR is building the PPE (Power & Propulsion Element) to NASA specifications. That statement is still accurate.
