I find it crazy to open up a perfectly good motor. Mine is 10 years old and never been opened. Yes I have the slip-ons, bars and breather. 😎👍

Yes you hit a real nail on the head with this. Some of these MCVBers are or have become real AHers with these performance upgrades. Its disgusting this whole medium has changed to do as I do. Some of them need a hug.

So agree. I watch a lot of KZitemrs who push performance mods. I just picked up a 2016 FLHXS. The increase in torque and HP over my 2007 heritage is significant and meets my riding style which is mostly 2 up.

My SGS is pre-owned and I'm pretty sure the 103 has been modded (it came with a SE race tuner). About the only 3 things I have planned for it are T-bars as I loath ape hangers a new comfy seat for my aging hip and back and a ciro3 light cannons because I like to ride at night and always start a road trip several hours before day break.

These guys are coming from the sportbike world. It used to be the DYNA BROs and now that Harley discontinued that platform, they are starting the ridiculous performance baggers scene. Touring bikes are just that for touring not HOTRODS

Always enjoy your content I think mostly because we are kindred spirits. I’m 66 been riding for 50 years all manner of bikes but only Harley baggers now. Anyway I too get a kick out of all the mostly younger guys I see on u tube or chat with at rally’s that are obsessed with doing every possible thing to there bikes usually lots of time & money rendering them useless for touring. I ride multiple trips a year often exceeding 3500 miles I don’t need to go 200 mph anywhere. I guess I’m just getting old but I wanna do more than bar hop or ride around town👍

Well, I'm with you. I'm not a bar hopper and I don't drink anymore. I think as we get older we gain a little wisdom and actually enjoy just being out on the bike. You and I have been where they are once upon at time in our lives. Now lets just ride somewhere nice and enjoy the scenery and the company we ride with.

I work on German cars for a living. I get to see the modifications performed in the automotive world. Hard parts and software tweaks. Sorry, not for me. Just asking for trouble. My most recent motorcycle purchase is a 2022 Harley Heritage obtained end of September 2022. No engine modifications, not even exhaust. I prefer QUIET. Yeah, I have added an Advanblack King Tour pack trunk to the Heritage along with an engine crash guard and replaced all incandescent lamps with L.E.D.’s. Oh, last year at Myrtle Beach had Love Jugs installed too. (Remember, I work on German cars, including my share of the old air cooled VW’s and Porches, where they have their own engine driven fan). I’ll also install the L.E.D. Wrap around tour pack lighting before my trip to Myrtle Beach Bike Week this coming May. May also add tire pressure monitors to the wheels and a GPS too before May. For me, no engine mods. Perfectly happy stock.

When I was young I was always wanting more power. Back then I would get the fastest bike I could buy. It was the 80s and you could buy a new Japanese bike that would do 150 or more for less than people are spending on upgrades. You could find them used for $3,000. I loved the adrenaline from riding fast. Now that I am older I have a 2007 Heritage with a twin cam 96B. It is stock performance wise. It has a few changes and I have a few more planned. They are all for cosmetic or to make it more useful (Hard Saddle Bags). I also have a 1999 1200 Sportster Custom. It has a screaming eagle exhaust and a high flow air cleaner. I do ride it a little faster in the corners than the Heritage. I do not ride either one hard. I still enjoy the ride just as much. A lot of these young guys feel the need to have the baddest bike around. The local Harley dealer was selling a new Softail last year they had modified and installed legend suspension. They had the dyno sheet on it. It had 170 horsepower at the rear wheel. I was tempted at first. I then thought it wasmore power than I would ever use. Sorry about being so long winded. I tend to ramble on about motorcycle related topics.

I'm sort of in the middle. It's your bike so you do you. At 53 with two HD's ( Deuce and a Nightroad which goes plenty fast already ) and a Roadmaster I could care less what anyone thinks at this point in my life. I appreciate whatever you do if it motivates you to love your bike more and more. Things go in fads, for a while it was 300 rear tires and crazy OCC bikes, then it was Dyna Bros with Tbars, Dixon shirts, Converse Chucks ( thanks SOA ), hand guards like the Geezer and now it's performance baggers with $2000 rear suspensions and crash bars. Having said that, I'm continually doing things to my Deuce like adding more chrome and some engine mods becuase I want to not because I feel in anyway inadequate to anyone I meet along the way. That's how I try to live my lfe. You do you, ride your ride, be respectful and we can ride together anytime. Stay safe and ML&R from Canada.

Comment? Sure. I bought a 2014 used v-twin 111. The prior owner put a stage 2 on it so I knew he $pent some ca$h to do the upgrade. Before I bought it, I rode my friend's nearly identical bike & found it to be quite nice just as is from the factory. I never would $pend the big bucks on these mods. So if you guessed I'm a senior rider, you're right. One thing I'm not into is jockrockets, though I shopped specifically for a big bike. I did so in order to navigate the highways & not get blown off track by big rigs out there. I get the comfort desired & ability to do long rides if I choose that path for my upcoming rides. I'm not here to compete or show off, just ride and enjoy the journey.

Many of the KZitemrs you described are sponsored by companies to sell their products. These KZitemrs want to make you feel that you're missing out if you don't do the same or similar upgrades they are doing. I stopped watching one KZitemr who unabashedly hawked everything from engine parts to boots. His channel used to be like yours, sharing riding experiences and thoughts about motorcycling. Now it's become an infomercial for parts. I did upgrades on my bike to suit me and am quite happy. However, when I test drove the 2024 with the 121 engine, I felt the only thing that bike needed was slip ons exhaust and highway pegs.

i have a 2014 ultra limited. nothing wrong with the motor out of the box. i bought it for touring. rich people pour money into their bikes for bragging rights. it breaks and buys another one. there are bikes meant to go fast and cheaper to buy. so those channels that shows off that stuff…..i “don’t recommend channel” and don’t have to see them again

Its just people getting sucked into the hype. Most harleys have chassis and suspension and components designed for cruising or touring. My 100hp stock HD is perfect for what it was designed for and I really love it for what it is. If I want to go fast on real riding roads I jump on my 180hp Euro bike with chassis , engine , suspension , brakes etc designed to safely go fast. Oh yes and it is literally half the weight and under half the price of my Harley. Is one better than the other? Nope just different tools for different jobs.
