@AxeandYung

To be honest, this is the price range for non-pmet jobs. Well, SG is in the midst of discussing on the min wage issue. Being a delivery worker is considered self-employed. People do it for different reasons (flexibility, temporary out of job, part-time for extra income). My advice is, do not judge people based on their jobs. Next video we will share more on the truth of being a Grabfood worker. I am only working on part-time basis aside from my professional career. This job really taught me a lot, and I have met many other riders along the way :)

@@AxeandYung Sorry if I have in some way made you Misperceived or Misunderstood what I said. I never judge a person for what he does. The fact that non pmets are paid such low wages does not mean it's right. It's precisely the lack of Min Wage that any low wage can exist in SG. Do you know how have fees earned by food deliverers changed over the years compared to in the beginning? I Am a Food Delivery man full time. Glad to hear you are looking into this line of work. There are many things that should be improved in this industry. Primarily the problems inevitably exist because Singapore has NO Min Wage. @@arrowstheorem1881Alright. Thanks for explaining and giving these insights. Well, text can be miscommunicated. We totally respect each occupation as everyone is using their time and skill to contribute to the society and economy. We should probably give more feedback to Grab and any authority. It instead is hard-earn money and we have calculated the full-time pay (work 8 hours a day, some are non-peak hours) is still very minimal to survive in this country =( We will probably show the true calculation on this in next video. All the best man!

Slowly . You start slow with a few order and you build up your stamina from there . And being a walker helps to exercise all your muscle groups . Good for keeping fit and healthy . There are some aunties uncles in their 50s-60s doing walker . Age is not a problem . Is whether you want to improve your healthy lifestyle ? There are some physically challenged elderlies doing on their personal mobility device as well . They are an inspiration to anyone out there . If they can do it . So can you . Im in my 40s too . ( few more years will be nearing my 50s ) And im a walker . 😊

My friend who does Grab using motorcycle told me recently he received a *Mix and Match* order where he collected many foods ordered by 1 single customer through such a special order where he had to go and wait to collect food from one stall to another and another and so on. But my friend was *NOT COMPENSATED AS A STACKED ORDER.* He received only a bicycle type of fee. I wonder does Grab earn the commissions from *PER STALL?* If so, why was the riders not duely given more fare?
@AxeandYung
4 жыл бұрын
I have never get such stacked order before, it sounds aweful. Food delivery company get commission from the restaurant based on the value of the sales. While delivery riders get pay per job, meaning per customer as I guess. Well, maybe this is something your friend should feedback to Grab, and hopefully it can be fairer if the job is taking too much time and efforts.

@@AxeandYung most experienced riders never received this type of order. I wonder what is the motive behind such orders and since its so good for customers why have are such orders so rare? A customer can order from multiple stalls for same small fee

I think Mix & Match is still new and currently it's only available at some locations. According to Grab each additional pick up location for the order in Mix & Match will get additional $2 per stop. Have not received such order yet. Dunno if the $2 per stop is new incentive after complaints. (This info have only recntly been sent to all riders i think on 2 sept)

Whether its walker or rider the situation is it is a self replacing system. Those who quits after a while will be replaced by those who are eager and stronger. The tech companies are real smart and the biggest winner because cusumers are willing to pay for convenience

Hi Edward, kind of agree with you that the working system ( no matter full time, part time, or contract) are self-replacing system. All workers are replaceable. However we are also trying to make sure of the system to earn a bit of money, especially for those who does not want to create any new business.

We must not let one Delivery Company Dominate because it will mean less bargaining power for riders. Case in point, 1. *FARES* have dropped over the years and 2. you have to *pay for their shirts and bags.* Providing free mobile Advertisements Islandwide for them. 3. *Time-Slot schedule* : You are no longer free with your time. If you unable to secure the slot, you get no job during that slot. 4. *SG lacks union for this trade.* Who is there to negotiate for you with them if something unfair happens to you? Suffer in silence? David Vs Goliath? 5. *SG has no Min wage* this means as more enters the trade, due to supply over Demand, fares can be lowered to boost profit for company. It's at their disposal. Unfortunately, too many are in too much need for this form of earnings that many willing to do it when it rains also. 6. Singaporeans generally are resigned to their fate and few would take on the Goliath. The problems are possible partly because of the citizen mindset or their fear of Goliath generally. I hear so many unhappiness on the ground but at the end they just suck it up. This is pro business at the expense of riders themselves. Ownself Eat Ownself

@@AxeandYung A more concrete way is to be Represented by an Independent Union for Gig Economy workers starting with protection for delivery partners. If Opposition can facilitate or help it would be great cos most citizens are fearful in their version of 'democracy'. Ironically, a person fearful of speaking or thinking about politics is unable to perform his role as a participant of democracy. He is Impotent in this aspect.
