To tell you the truth, if I didn't already know most of this I would be confused by your info. I think it would have clearer if you said, Rent control is everywhere, but at different levels or increases, except Homes and condos. But my main question with AB1482 in CA/LA, When, and really before this law went into effect I read the CPI had a Max of 3%. Now I am hearing it is 5%. When did the max CPI change from 3% Max to 5% ??? Also I didn't know about April. So your saying what ever the CPI was/is in April is the Max they can use for CPI, and no other month in a 12 month period?

Can you tell us what is the word on raising rent on a single family home in San Francisco?
@SageRealEstate

San Francisco has its own city wide rent control and it's out of our area. I suggest you check with the city housing department.

Thank you for the concise info! Here's a tricky one...I own a mobile home that I rent to traveling nurses from a hospital. It is always a month to month. I don't own the land the mobile sits on. A new owner bought the land and is demanding a 200% rent increase on the space rent with no written notice. Legal?

Under the statewide rent, control law, and the LA area a landlord can raise the rent by 8.8% (excluding cities that have their own law).

How can they not know this they just keep thinking how lousy it is in Los Angeles where they don't even have to pay rent and it takes a year to get anybody out and you have to pay them thousands of dollars that's the one that they're thinking awful awful in Los Angeles please make sure because they're getting the 3% because of Los Angeles

Certainly some people know, but I would say both on the tenant and landlord side there's a lot of confusion on how laws are to be applied. Thanks for commenting.

I have old nasty cabinet and have been asking for them to replaced since we moved in. We have old heaters in the wall that give off a toxic smell if you run them... Thank you for your videos they're very educational. I had a question I hope you can answer for me. So would it be legal to raise the rent in a single family home up 64.5% ? From $1550 to $2550 in the city of South El Monte Los Angeles County?
@SageRealEstate
Жыл бұрын
Wow that is a very high increase. The home is exempt from statewide rent control, so technically the owner would have the right to do so unless if the City of El Monte has passed their own law against this. Please check with the housing authority.
