I believe investors should focus on actively investing their cash rather than leaving it idle in banks. This quarter, we're likely to see increased market diversification. I plan to invest around $350K of my savings in stocks over the next year, with the goal of achieving substantial returns and potentially growing my wealth by millions.

Around 2006 I purchased a 70 acre farm in the mountains, heavy timber, fishing pond, several streams, small cabin, hand pump well, outhouse, etc. It was under $200,000. People would say, why in the world would anyone want to live there. In 2014 a real estate agent said she would put it on the market for $499,900. Back in 2008 I was in a local walmart, buying dry goods to stock in the cabin. nothing special, case of canned spam, dry lentils and bags of rice. Went by the ammo counter, they had plenty of 30-30 winchester ammo. I keep an old 30-30 lever rifle at the cabin so i thought I should put some ammo back. Old timer was standing there with me at the ammo counter and we got to talking, those 30-30 winchester cartridges, 20 rds per box, use to go for $ 5.00 , told him I know. In 2008 they were $ 8.00. So I bought 5 boxes at $ 8.00 per box of 20 cartridges, 150 gr and 170 gr bullets, both priced the same. I bought 100 rds, with tax was just over $ 42.00. Some guy walked by and looked in my cart, saw the five 20 rd boxes of 30-30, he smirked, laughed, shook his head and said, what in the world are you going to do with all that ammo? Just putting back I said, he walked away, still laughing and shaking his head. Just did a google search for that exact box of ammo I purchased in 2008 for $8.00 per box. The google search revealed: the ammo is out of stock, back ordered with a price of $ 39.96 per box, and that doesnt include shipping. I dont trust the banks or the market. Buy what you know you will need and use. Yes, have some cash on hand, but when the dollar continues to be devalued, you will lose buying power. It doesnt take much money to prepare, an ax, a bow saw, hatchet, a sawyer water filter can filter 5 gal of water per day for 20 years. I still have those $8.00 boxes of ammo, not for sale, but if I come across that guy that laughed at me back in 2008, I might be willing to sale him some, but it wont be for $ 8.00 a box.

I’ve never seen this in my life, but I am in Ontario, Canada. I’m thinking maybe the situation with supply being larger, too many “good deals” and perhaps owners financially over-extended is the difference down in Texas and California? Vehicles, that includes used ( pre-owned as it’s now called) have always been an expensive rip-off unless you know a good mechanic/car guy. Interestingly, but no surprise to me - The ad at the beginning of this video was hocking cars. Lol. There are lots full of over-priced cars. I like your rationale for holding a limited amount of cash. Makes sense. What we may think of as good reasons to keep a bit more cash on hand would likely be transitory. Either recovery would soon occur and access to bank accounts would be restored, or crisis conditions will be so widespread and prolonged that cash would become useless. Better have something to live on or to trade...

I started watching your channel a month ago and really get a lot out of them. Yes, I keep cash in and out of the bank. I'm stocking up on foods that would not require a lot of water to cook or is easy. We've experience power outages for 4+ days in the winter and it's not a pleasant experience, so we invested in a generator, had a 220 plug installed outside and now we have power when it goes out. Best investment ever, but people need to do this in the summer and not wait till the winter or when power goes out! Last month our community well's pump went out on a Friday and we were without water for 4 days. Not pleasant either! I'm getting a few rain barrels to store water in, as well as 6 gas cans which we can alternate use and it will be ready for the generator. Sorry, a lot of information. But really basics that so many of us put off doing that can make life more comfortable.

Dried food, clothing, shoes, water, seeds, ammo, med supplies, sanitation supplies, fire wood, propane/generator, canning supplies, etc.. Like investing, I buy cheap and will use when it gets expensive. That's why I keep cash on hand in small bills. I keep cash in different banks/credit unions, some "emergency cash" in the fireproof safe, and some "emergency cash" on my person(outside of investments and such), just in case. You never know when you may come across an investment opportunity and it sucks when you come across one and you miss out on it for not having instant access to the cash for it. So many times I find something that I just have to stop and purchase for cash only that is an instant investment flip/hustle. I missed out on too many of those to not keep cash on hand in different spots just as an emergency investment. Especially lawn equipment that I make as much as 600% instant profit on just by purchasing it for cash and cleaning it up a bit and putting a little effort into repairing and then selling it less than 24 hours later.

I suppose I just don't see financial prep as fundamentally different. That a bit of diversity is just a way of protecting yourself for the future. Like for sure I think it's good to have some of your wealth in storable food, energy, water, medical, protection ,etc. But having at least some diversity of wealth rather than having it all in one place seems less risky. Of course everyone is is going to balance that differently, but if you have years of storable food and don't have a couple months expenses, that may not be the best balance. Each their own though, and all the best to you

Hi! I spent 10+ years in the banking industry. I worked for a bank that went out of business in 2007 and was taken over by a different bank that hired me on as an employees, so I went through this situation as both a customer AND as an employee. If your bank closes or goes out of business (and is FDIC or NCUA insured) the bank would be taken over by another (usually larger) bank. Any direct deposits (or direct withdrawals) should go through as normal, maybe with a day or two delay (most creditors will be understanding and not charge you a late fee). If you get either of those checks as paper checks, you may find that there is a bit longer of a delay in processing the checks that are submitted right when the bank closes. If it’s a wide scale collapse of the banking system (all the US banks), we’re all pretty much screwed.

The county we live in is quite rural and has a lot of poverty. We find that being able to barter is usually optimal because most people don't have cash even in the best of times. So, we help each other. I have tools and equipment and will fix stuff that, particularly the isolated and elderly, need. Often, these people have farm stuff from old fence or whatever that they don't need so it's a good trade and helps those persons remain independent and safer to have things in good repair. We would do this even if the streets were paved with gold. Why? Because serving others is truly a huge blessing in life. We also give a lot of farm fresh eggs away. That's the good life.

For those of us who've had to work through it all, and had to deal with the rude ignorant customers I don't have sympathy for any of them, hope they all lose everything, many of use already have at one point in our lives so for the freeloaders sucking up free government handouts its time they lose everything as well and have to pay back every cent of the money they have been stealing this past year. If they want to continue to receive hand outs they need to be working in their communities doing community service work and community projects and helping the working people...no way in hell they should be receiving government assistance without having to get off their asses and work for it. My mom & grandmother taught me how to cook, sew, etc. and my grandfather taught me how to do DIY projects, repairs, etc. So I can manage my way around that type of stuff without any issues, and its paid off many times over the years not only saving myself money but picking up side jobs here and there for some extra $$$$.

I learned then that insurance doesn’t cover coins or cash in a home fire. BTW fireproof safes only last for 20 minutes at 1200 degrees-most home fires easily exceed that temperature. Now I keep my coins in a bank safe deposit box and I keep a smaller amount of emergency cash at home. I also have digitized most of my important documents and family pictures as well.

Best gun I ever had…a 160lb Great Dane. That dog barks so low and loud, she scares everyone half to death.

Love your videos. I keep money hidden in my truck for garage sales, going to play poker, but most importantly , to gas up in case I forgot my wallet. One should have enough cash to gas you vehicle to get home from any trip.

Should remind everyone that if they plan to use that cash towards a home purchase that it needs to be traceable. Like in a bank for 60 days...???

During a bank holiday how will you pay your property taxes? During the depression people couldn’t get their hands on their cash to pay taxes and lost their property because they had no cash.

My greatest concern as that the citizens of this country are empty vessels, unlike the greatest generation that is now gone. What is our strategy, meaning those of us that are preparing and would help their neighbor to an extent, but not the rioting masses of the living acting like the undead? Most of us are good for a few months maybe a couple years, bit every other foolish scoffer will be done in less than a week and big govt will have to step in.

Keeping your savings in a bank seems more risky than at any time I can recall. With the new bank bail-in rules and now hackers getting all credit card names and numbers, and scammers working overtime to contact you claiming to be from your bank or social security fraud detection dept getting your pin or personal info so they can just get into your account and drain whatever you have. Getting attacked from all directions nowadays, an soon it will be unusual to never been targeted before. Won't even mention plain old theft of personal property going on all over.

Obvious reason, it’s been tough to find a decent contractor to renovate my house… I would love to hear about your thoughts on what may happen in home Reno and contractor market for early 2022? Thank you…

I'm sorry to hear that. We can't keep up with demand. I'm forced to turn down jobs almost daily. I've got to take the most profitable jobs In this market.

@@probuilder961 Sir, I understand how it is… I don’t blame good contractors being busy… I am just little frustrated that I can’t get some folks out for a decent quote… so I need to wait…

I dont keep cash out of the bank, but I did convert the extra cash in my bank to gold/silver. that is what I keep on hand, and we should be able to use that as cash in the event of a catastrophe. Its also safer to store in your home, because you can keep it in a safe (hidden) protected from most theft, fire, and water damage, unlike cash. in summary.. keep crypto in your digital format, and metals in your physical format :-)
