This question comes up all the time, so let's chat about it and some considerations you should make.
In this case, we have a clock that will allow us to control the watering schedule. Because this particular system is set up for fruit trees, we know that we will need to water deeply (for a longer period of time) and less frequently than a vegetable garden would need.
We can water about every 3-4 days for fruit trees, but we can also adjust this based on the time of year. The soil will likely be drier during the summer, so we'll need to water more often.
We can usually lower that amount in the fall especially in the winter.
If this was for a veggie garden, we might do something more like every day or two for 10-15 minutes at a time.
