Eating snacks from outside Starbucks is what locals do as well 😊 Gositel is also a cheap place to get one room for a short stay. I am amazed how Josh figured all this out beforehand 👍🏻 I always overpay in Korea, must learn from this guy 😊

I'm just shocked that you've even discovered the existance of gosiwon - It's actually a form of bare-minimum accomodation for young adults who are either cramming for an exam(hence the name 'gosi', Korean term for government-conducted exams) or have just moved out & can't afford a proper place yet.

I was utterly blown away by how affordable Korea was. I didn't go bare bones on anything while I was there and kept everything within a reasonable balance of budget friendly and "splugering" and I still spent a fraction of what I would spend here in the states.

If you think that's good go head to Busan it's even cheaper there. Actually I think Busan is sort of "better" than Seoul for my personal tastes. More nature nearby and beaches.

보통 호텔 숙박비가 업청싸도 20만원이고 보통은 1박에 50만원이고 밥한끼는 제가 가는 기준으로 한끼에 만원어치 그리고 간식도 먹으니까 오천원 더 그러면 총 합해서 대략 52만 5000이네요 (저는 하루 2끼 먹습니다)

It's a Gositel made for mostly unemployed or CSAT-retaking students living on limited money. More of a motel in a mixed-use building. Theu are cheap, but some of these places can be sus as hell.

This isn't NY or SF really. Not a lot of artisan coffee place. I personally just made my own coffee or went to PAIK’S COFFEE or Starbucks. Yeah there's a Blue Bottle there, but super expensive. Also some cold brew shops that isn't really cafes but more of "bring your own thermos and we will fill it up" places. Those are nice.

I live and work as an IT in Singqpore, USA, NZ and Australia. This total amount spend for the day is just about enough for your body size. Smaller body eats less so less spending a bit.

Tourism industry in my country mainly focus on foreigners visitors (mainly on China). More of us locals traveling to Thailand than our own country, Malaysia as it's a cheaper option. The costs of foods is normal though BUT the price of hotels, homestay, lodging etc. is too pricey for us. Malaysia is the foods heaven, not much for sceneries and activities.

The minimum wage is 8 to 9 dollars.(9000-10000 Korean won) But it is a different story when you decide to buy a house. I wonder how things are going in other countries. Rent, housing etc
