At 194 decibels, a sound wave at standard atmospheric pressure becomes a shock wave. It's not a sound anymore. Above this, it's just increasing shockwave energy and violence.

I know this might sound crazy, but hear me out here. In this really really small world (Have you seen it? It's like a globe. Crazy, right? Anyway) This place where more than half of humanity goes to die, this world we live on... There are a few weird wacky people that -get this- THEY USE DECIMALS IN PLACE OF COMMAS! Can you believe that? I know, it's soo crazy, i'm about to lose my mind here. So like to them, "20.000" is like "20-thousand" to us normal people. Man, what a wacky world.

No one will probably see this rant, but I'm triggered and shall vent. I am always triggered when these videos pop up discussing 'loud sounds'. I'm glad you mentioned that intensity, frequency, and exposure time all play a factor but I wish people would elaborate further. Decibels are not a very useful unit to measure the effects of sound on their own. The frequency plays a massive role. Decibels just measure the pressure difference with reference to the human hearing threshold (quietest sound we can hear). As an extreme example, climbing mount Everest is equivalent to ~184dB when using the formula. Many people climb it and don't suffer any ill effects because the frequency is extremely low. As a better example with audible frequencies, I compete in IASCA dB league where we try to generate as much sound pressure as possible in our project cars. My personal car generates 158db at 38hz and I sit inside that with no hearing protection regularly for extended periods of time. Once again, the frequency is too low to have drastic damaging effects. I've been competing for over 10 years and I'm fine. There are even videos of me out there sitting inside much louder vehicles as loud as 170dB and I didn't died and I can still hear fine. It's one thing to measure raw pressure difference (Decibels) vs measuring how hard you shake something (intensity) with how quickly something is being shaken (frequency) and with for how long (exposure). A good way to think about it is someone slowly swaying you back and forth vs someone grabbing you and shaking you the same distance but very fast. One might feel quite nice while the other can clearly give you a concussion or even kill you.

Interesting Also, if you didn’t know, hope this helps you in general, Jesus will fulfill you more than anything in this world, I speak from experience (from when i did Romans 10:9-13), he loves you and wants to be in a meaningful (not romantic) relationship with you. :) “that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 KJV “and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:15 KJV If you want proof that Jesus and the Bible are true look a documentary called “Ron Wyatt discoveries 2022” on KZitem and a KZitem channel called Expedition Bible. They both examine archeological sites and discoveries that prove the Bible, and even reference secular sources. (Just don’t convert to 7th day Adventism after watching the documentary) And lastly if you don’t know the gospel and want to be saved search up “abc’s of Salvation Teenmissions” on Google and it should be the first or second result. When you click on it read the whole thing, and do what it says and have faith in Jesus while you are doing it, do not doubt, and if it is hard for you to do what it says, ask Jesus to help you, have faith that he will, and *he will.* God Bless :)

I would like to mention that sperm whales are able to produce sounds reaching 230 decibels. This is enough to rupture blood vessels in the brain and lungs, as well as bursting the air sacs in the lungs; and potentially able to shatter some bones. Some divers who have swam with sperm whales claim that they felt aching hours after the encounter. The sperm whales are even able to use this to stun prey when hunting.

I listen to Gustav Mahler symphonies Here’s my recommendation The first three symphonies are very solid and epic, specially 2nd and 3rd (fun fact, the third one is the longest symphony, with 140 minutes) 5th is very famous because of the adagietto, which represents love and peace through sound 6th is the tragic symphony, in the finale there’s two massive blows of hammer on the music 8th is the most epic and triumphant symphony of all, with organs, bells, chorus, vocal soloists, children chorus, all of that this piece has 1000 musicians 9th symphony is a duality, with beautiful orchestration and yet has a very sorrowful finale Note: I didn’t include the 4th because it’s very indie, it’s beautiful and joyful but it’s not epic afterward, the 7th I didn’t listen to it yet, 10th one was unfinished, however there’s only the first movement available
