This is an awesome video. Great to get an insight behind the scenes on how the analytics stack up. Mike’s take from a Marketing POV is useful. The organic reach and engagement is mind-blowing.

these are really great videos - work part-time at a microbrewery at the moment and its amazing the complexity that goes into producing an individual pint

Very great insight! In the podcast you should have a beer of the week that you’re enjoying and you and the guests can discuss it.

Not going to lie when you first launched i went online to order some and the price unfortunately put me off, I cannot justify playing 4 quid for a can, but if i was in a pub i would be happy to pay it for a pint

Hopefully the price drops in the future. Understand they have to pay designers and everything, but essentially quite a bit of that is a one time payment. Is too much tho when i dont even know if I'll like it

Yeah, we totally understand. Craft beer is very much a luxury product and it's impossible to compete on price with big brewers.

£4 is very average for the price of a craft beer! Fairly cheap compared to a lot. I imagine it tastes a lot better than most you get in supermarkets too

Also. The note in packaging is a lovely touch. Northern Monk do something similar when they send beer out. Personal touch means a lot to people.

Really enjoyed this Robbie and Mike. Transparency like this is brilliant. Showing your hand, and being open and honest is so refreshing. The podcast sounds like another move in the right direction. For me. Valencian Tip Run was a light refreshing pale ale that did exactly what it said on the tin. I know you took some criticism for the price. But for me. As a start up business, you have to recover some costs. At approx £4 a can. I don’t think this is massively above established craft beers from established breweries. And as a ltd first run was worth the price. Anyway. Waffling now. Looking forward to more of these and seeing what’s to come. Wanda says. Cough cough. Chocolate stout 🤣🤣 🍺🍺🍺🍺

This is what I didn’t know I wanted and needed to learn at school. (Instead of spending an hour queuing up for a go on the school computer :s) Even for those not looking to run a business, it’s important to understand how it works right? to get where the value is. As a digital marketer it’s super interesting to hear how things are going from the inside. You’re clearly smashing customer experience already from the newsletters to social to packaging and of course the product! Loving following your journey from the OG tip run to this epic achievement out of the middle of pandemic, awesome!

Very insightful. Thanks both. Adding my 2 pence into the point about pricing of the beer itself. If I had been watching this in my early/mid-twenties, I could not have afforded to spend the amount I did in getting 6 cans of beer I’d never tried. And given Robbie’s association with JackMate et al (how I discovered the channel), it’s likely there are a lot of viewers in that sort of age range. I’m in my mid-thirties and find myself in the position where I can afford to spend that much. It’s less about quantity in the pub for me now and more about quality of product I can enjoy at home. So I support the idea of ‘luxury’ and I think the current trends of subscription services for global crafts beers etc would also support that. We all understand that a handmade product will cost more than a mass produced one and brewing is the same. I know not everyone’s situation is the same, but I found it interesting reading some comments and thinking about my own spending habits over the years. Loved Valencian Tip Run and eagerly await further brews.
