Yes Sir, Agreed, these are very realistic numbers, and best to err on the side of caution by having more.

Your video & numbers that you quote humbles me sir.. your benchmarks are too high & makes total sense looking at current inflation rates. Thank you for posting continuously🙏

For calculation purposes if 1lakh is a standard expense for a couple at this moment for a 30 year 12 lakhs x 120 times. For a 40 year x 60 times and for a 50 year x 30 times very simplistic but a good ball park number.

No body knows how long we will live . No body knows what will be the rate of inflation. No body knows our medical expenses - a man slipped into coma and his wife spent a fortune to look after him. With no will in place ,she could not sell her property to take care of him and ran into debt.

There is no limit to the kind of problems humans face in their life. But being an optimistic, we need to plan for such unforseen right now, as much as we can. Which will have less impact and possibility of recovery and lead life. Its like Car accident on 150kmph speed and car accident with 40kmph speed...

I honestly do not understand how people are spending 1 lakh Rs a month in India where the cost of living is so low particularly food costs, I live in the US and my monthly expenses even though the cost of living is so high here is only $700 a month. I doubt anyone outside of the top 1% is spending 1 lakh Rs per month in India, shouldn’t the video cover majority and not the top 1%.

then YOU do not have to worry at all...you will get Social Security of 1400 $ a month. That is a King's ransom. If that's true, US should not have a Retirement time bomb at all. Personally I do not know anybody who will live on less than Rs. 100,000 a month - by the time we reach 2030.

Rent in a city like Bangalore = 30K Food/grocery expenses for a family of 3 = 20K Utilities = 5-7K on lower side. Fuel =5-7K on lower side Child education (1 child) = 10K (usually more for even middle class) Clothes, festivals =5 K (min) Miscellaneous (car/bike ins/service/shopping) = 5K. This is broad estimate. Not top 1% at all. True but only food costs less but we make up for it by eating out more😅

@@sarathyishere My mother lives by herself in our own house and her monthly expenses are only 8000 Rs per month, if it reaches 10000 Rs, she thinks it's too much.

@@whatever3041 That happens and works for people from last generation in retirement - location, home ownership also changes lot of things but lifestyle is the key here. The example I gave is very specific - location (T1/some T2 cities)+ for a family of 3 (which is probably larger target audience for these videos). If food is one's only expense and one owns the house they live in, yes this number makes sense (true for my parents too). But that isn't the norm for current gen living in cities. there's a skewed equation here but the $700 you mentioned in US is also probably for bare necessities?
