For those of you who are struggling with the costs, airplane partnerships make things much more affordable. If you have five friends who want to build one that’s only the cost of a decent new car. And you don’t have to do it all at once. You pay for the kit first. Build that. Then the engine. Then the avionics. It all takes time to build each phase.
@antoniobranch

IDK Uncle. Google says that $25k in 1984 is $63k today. Figure in the advancement in the avionics package vs your 152, and you didn't say if your 152 was new or used in 1984, plus the aircraft performance between the 152 and Sling TSI are nowhere near closely related. Sure it's a lot of cash in 2021, but comparatively speaking, you also had to be living well-off in 1984 to own a private aircraft as well.

First of all congrats on your new plane! I wonder why I keep hearing that it is less safe to build yourself. I’m about six to nine months from finishing our RV-10 and I have set every rivet with my wife. It’s been checked by fellow builders and tech advisors. Why is this less safe? Aluminum planes with solid rivets is not a complex structure. It just takes time. If I can build a plane, anyone can but it will require learning. Can you talk some about that? Also I’d love to check your plane out next time we fly up from Texas to PDK. I can make my way up to LZU. Last, not sure if you saw my other comment on last video. Check the orientation of your mic on your Bose headset. It may be why ATC can’t hear you well when TXing. Blue skies.
