Looking forward to being able to listen to the story as a whole series! Been working my way through the Hole in the Wall story. Loving Satori Reader so far!

There is a lot of good content on Satori reader and I will probably buy a subscription once Ive read all the short stories and graded readers ive collected, but there is one issue that does annoy me. The difficulty of the articles are rated 1-5 by the users, but the difficulty obviously depends on the level of the reader. A beginner will grade an intermediate story 5 and someone advanced will rate it a 1, so everything pretty much ends up with a difficulty rating of 3-3.5. It would be really useful if the content was graded from n5-n1 or beginner to advanced by the producers, so you know where to start and how to progress through the content.

One thing that they did to remedy this is add a filter feature for Easier, medium, harder, etc. But it's by series not story. I can see how having more accurate difficulty ratings by episode would be helpful.

Hello, Sebastian. We completely agree. That has been a pain point for a while. We have actually just retired the user difficulty ratings for exactly the reasons you mention. Also, it sort of didn't make sense to have episode-by-episode ratings, since for most series (except perhaps the news or dialogs) you can't just start in the middle anyway. We have removed those ratings and instead added a new screen that shows series by editor-assigned difficulty groups. There's a link at the top of the Series page (available right now on the website; mobile app updates coming today).

WOW I'm really surprised at how small the team is! All their hard work is so appreciated though--it clearly shows in the extremely high quality of this resource. To this day I love that Satori Reader team members still will comment on Disqus when someone has a question about even the oldest content. Thanks for all the insider details! :D

Today I learned the word 悟る, does the app's name come from 悟り, then?

It does indeed! We discussed this actually, but I can't remember if it made the cut into any of these videos. It will definitely be in the full conversation when I release it. =)
