ahh~ the memories, reminds me of my first time umra(h) with my parents and siblings. they're a bit emotional because some people that went to umra(h) didn't come back forever because they have their wish granted by Allah SWT to pass away in the holy land of Mecca and Madina, the land of the Prophet SAW. the surrounding air is even more emotional during the hajj season. the gesture of clasping hands together and touching the forehead on the palm is a respect gesture commonly practiced in South East Asia Archipelago (Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, South Thailand and South Vietnam). In the old days, they usually kiss the hand between child to their parents, wife to her husband, younger sibling to their older sibling, youngsters to their (village/community) elders, the congregations to their imam, the commoners to their sultan/raja, but these days, they only touch their foreheads on the people they respected as a gesture of humility. the dessert at 7:47 is called kuih keria - it's made from sweet potato and wheat flour doused in palm sugar glaze. the desserts at 9:11 : 1. seri muka - the green layer is made from sweetened custard layer colored by pandan leaves and the white layer is made from glutinous rice and coconut milk (salted) 2. buah melaka/onde-onde - sweet rice cake ball filled with molten palm sugar and coated in grated coconut 3. kaswi/kosui/lompang - made from tapioca and rice flour, flavoured heavily with pandan and brown palm sugar and covered in grated coconut flakes 4. kuih lapis (layered cake) - made from glutinous rice and coconut milk while patiently steamed layer by layer Extra! at 9:08 the yellow cake on top is called cara berlauk - savoury cake made from steamed wheat flour and filled with minced beef and chili 12:22 perhaps it's expensive because it's from the convenient store at the airport. I can relate to that but if you're too thirsty, gotta close your eyes and buy the drink. :DD

Beautiful family !!. The food looks amazing. I hope the family had a beautiful Umrah. My husband and I did our Hajj obligation about 20 years ago, it was so beautiful.

Normally the spice cake is Indonesian layer cake. I don't remember the name we used called it back then, I think cake Bandung,or betawi, some called lapis legit,(but legit sounds Morden name, from English words legit).

But saffron is not a flower. It's herbs. And i think saffron are not use in tea. Usually they use spice especially arab tea. Maybe its star anise, which is bunga lawang (bunga is flower).

@@penahidayah1727 the tea literally lable "teh saffron" , the uncle explain to him what saffron from. and saffron is the name of the flower, just saffron spice is from that flower stigmata.
