Thank you so much for all of the information and wisdom. I wanted to do this for the 2020 - 2021 season. I have around 600 Dahlia growing now and wanted to invite people onto the property but there are strict guidelines for health and safety here in New Zealand and I don't want to hurt people because I haven't filled a hole. The next option was to offer a CSA! Bammmm and there you are spreading joy in my life

If it doesn't work out with the store again, you could still have a pickup location outside.
@FlowerHillFarm
3 жыл бұрын
True- it’s all about time saving though. I don’t have the time to wait for the customers to pick them up and through experience there are always people who don’t make their time slot or are running behind, which would mean I couldn’t move on to my next task while I wait for them- the store would give them a broader time table for pickup since most of my customers work during the day. Something will work out!

New here, starting a CSA farm myself in Canada, and thanks for the great videos, they are really helpful and fun to watch. Now, one suggestion and someone might have said so here, but how about doing a prior registration a few days before for the customers that were with you the last season? I think that is a common practice in CSA to make sure you keep and cherish the customers that help you grow along the way.

Great video! I'm using same pinecones for my art project and sometimes( well, not always, but in my area often) they do have little bugs, so the safest way to use or storage them in house is by firstly putting them to the stove for a few minutes on low temperature, then they are dry, light and safe :)

Stopped half way thru the vid to say I like how you've split up the CSA, boy oh boy, limiting them to 10 slots must've been soooo hard!!! I get it tho. And just as you were saying maybe the next year you'll split it into 3 time "zones" I was thinking that very same thing. I'm pretty sure you could get away with putting all the Spring bulbs into their own category too. That way, there's a clear cut-off line for that 1st Zone of bouquets. The Spring Bouquet Zone The Spring Bulb Zone (not sure WHY I feel the need to call them Zones!! But I do.) Then: The Spring Flower Zone Oh! The Wildflower Zone! (You know I'd be all over that one!) Then The Summer Zone And The Late Summer Zone hmmmmm... Seems I've just made it very complicated with so many categories... Oh - then there's the Fall Zone Where you sell all the colors of Fall... ! AND THE WINTER ZONE !!!!!!!! Where you decorate my house with Boughs of Holly n stuff, n stuff, n MORE stuff!!! Wait, how did you get into my house... ? Well, no matter, if YOU want to treck down to Texas to decorate MY house I certainly am not going to stop you!!! I look forward to it! You're welcome anytime!!! Ok, Brad Pitt just showed up, (he's so cute!) I'm gunna go finish our visit together! Ciao Doll 🎄☃️❤ OMG! M & M's last for AGES!!! I mean, they're self-enclosed-little-bits-of- chocolate-goodness... right? To quote "the past" - They melt in your mouth, NOT in your hands! And the chocolate protects any peanuts, so there's THAT. (again, I protest a missing emoji: the M&M. ...sigh...) ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
