I want to try this but smoke the pork butt then pull it and put in a disposable tin in smoker with the sauce, maybe have the other ingredients already smoking in the tin.

I’ve never seen Asado in south Texas, never knew what it was till I moved to west Texas. Don’t even see it in restaurants in south Texas, at least I never have. Asado in west Texas Is what carne guisada is to South Texas

I make an almost exact recipe that i got from my mom (although its impossible to match Mama's cooking). Only difference mom also uses California chiles and diced canned nopales towards the end. Delicious with some rice and beans.

I come back to this video often and make it twice a year or so lol Im from fort Stockton but live in San Antonio now and the only way to get it is to make it so gotta do what I gotta do haha thanks for the added support on anything I wasn't sure of gave me the confidence needed to try it! Looks way harder than it is and the results are amazing! We just call it asado in West Texas

I seen how mom makes her rice but I am curious on how she makes her refried beans. Can you upload a video on how she makes her refried beans? Are those beans you get from a taco truck come in a can or do they make it themselves?

Greetings from alpine tx. We make this outside in an old cauldron with some bone mixed with the meat. Low and slow till meat is tender and brown i deglaze with a little water to loosing bits at bottom. At the very end a little oregano for flavor. Best part is after taking the asado from the pot is scooping the bottom of pot with a tortilla
