I have been to northern ontario and the power of that land is bewildering. I often dreamed of a life in that environment. While hard, this type of life reminds you of your own fragility in respect to the world around you. The native people had all the details of their lives worked out beautifully. This life is not for everyone but for those that lead it the rewards are really indescribable.

Where did you find that documentary? Some first nation people in Quebec think they recognize people in it. They don't speak english and they would love to find a french version of it.

the one playing at the start is a la claire fontaine, and from order from firt to last, the songs in the canoeing portion of the video were c'est l'aviron, c'est sur le bord du saint laurent, and les haubans.
