I have a Case 550G I run on our farm quite a bit and the exposed hoses behind the blade are really the only problem I ever have with it. I would build a brush/push bar on top of the blade but haven’t figured out how to have that and my root rake at the same time when I need it. I have a channel and you can see my pasture clearing vids there where I take out a lot of cedar, trees, and briars in the creation of that pasture. Anyway, keep on, keeping on!

Came across this watching forestry cutter and mulchers. I really think one of those would have been a lot quicker

Most dozer are 25% faster in rev than they are in fwd so its quicker in rev, plus by the time U take into consideration turning around time and the wear and tear on steering clutches and brakes and the ground U tear up turning, its easier & quicker to back up.

Should be able to fab some brackets and covers out of angle/plate, and then thread and tap it so you can remove for cleaning or repairs to help.
