Love your channel! Most NYC content tends to be ditzy coffee vlogs, your stuff is a relief.

I work at Parsons/ the New School since 1992 (13 th and 5th) so many streets down there that I walk amd just try so hard to remember the world I discovered when I first moved there/ lived there. The university sunk so much money into that horrendous modern building and we barely even have windows in the classrooms. The warmth of the history in the school is gone. I cherish my memories so much.

Aww but I love that building. But I have no idea what it looked like before to be fair

@@LisaLee__ oh! I’m So glad To hear you love it. That gives me fresh eyes. Do you love it from the inside, from the outside. Or both? The old building has an escalator in it . Which was pretty funny! Maybe it because after the building went up they cut back all the budgets and the culture of the university changed radically. Maybe that’s the real reason I don’t like it. It looks like it’s made entirely of windows but the classrooms are sterile and so many are windowless. The old buildings were full of tall windows. And in the new building there are zero openings to any of the windows.

@LauraVolpintesta ahh I can imagine the change of ambiance especially with fewer windows, who made that decision? It sounds like it was a bit more inviting and comfortable before the overhaul. I used to meet my friends there after I got out of dental school for the day (the school turned out to be a scam and bilked thousands of us out of thousands of dollars and years of our lives! This was before you could Google places, 2004/2005) and I would meet them there. A few times I've went inside and had a tour but nothing that I can remember much about. The outside has become iconic in its own right to be sure. Just know that I and so many others wish to switch places with you lol what an awesome place to work at for so long my dear. Many well wishes and great years ahead for you

Tom, I’m listening to your videos every morning while cooking breakfast for my baby. It’s my sanity anchor. Please do more videos in the city, maybe stories about famous New Yorkers if you run out of locations. Thank you, love and kisses

OMG! My first baby was born on 14 street at a birthing center that worked in conjunction with St Vincent’s. I was driving over there recently and was wondering what happened to the hospital!?!? Gone? Wow! There goes a lot of jobs and working people!

Luv it. My cousin, a writer, lives nearby there on Waverly Place. Maybe you've been to or heard of Provincetown, Massachusetts. It's very artsy & gay & flocked with tourists: last town on the top of Cape Cod. Great vid as always

The fact that they demolished a community hospital like St Vincent to build luxury condos tells you all you need to know about GV.

Guys, doing what Tom does can be pretty expensive work. Why not consider becoming a "Patreon"? He doesn't charge us for these awesome videos and supporting him is just as good as supporting any business. The difference is that Tom won't ever disappoint! 😀
