Boye’s character is unmatched in the bridge community. Prior to him making the public accusations, thousands (yes thousands) of players knew these pairs were cheating but we did nothing. I’m sorry to say that I was part of this group and, along with many others would frequently make poor jokes like, “Fisher-Schwartz are playing so it’s a battle for second.” I played against the convicted cheaters many times and lost to them many times. After I heard the public accusations from Boye I was ashamed of my inaction for so long and I’m proud to say that I was able to contribute in the fight by scouring through videos and recording suspicious actions alongside not just Boye, but thousands of other players who did “band together” to clean up the game. Looking back, this could and should have been done years earlier, but every movement needs a hero to lead it and I’m glad Boye stepped up to fill those shoes.

Thanks for highlighting courage and a major problem in so many areas today: dishonesty destroying the fabric of human endeavor.

Boye is an absolute hero of the game we love. I've been playing near top level and I'm convinced I've been cheated by one of the world class Italian pairs from Italy, but have no proof. What's ridiculous is that this pair (and the pairs mentioned in this video too) don't really need to cheat as they are all really good players. I knew all of the Boye story I'm convince even after these scandals there are more cheaters we don't know of. I'd love to see a video about the Reese-Shapiro scandal and the rumored cheating of the Blue team too by the way.

My experience is more in Magic: the Gathering than bridge, but trust me on this: a LOT of the cheaters in Magic are top players because they feel the need to win every match they can, by hook or by crook. The question is often whether they go in planning to cheat or they just take advantage of an opportunity they see.

Let's say he makes up for the dreadfully ill-mannered brat who's been ruling the chess world for the last 15 years 😋

Don't think I'd be interested in playing where I think the opponents might be cheating

One of my role models confessed. How's that for a kick in the shin? Now I have this doubt of whether any brilliant bid or defense this person made over the course of several years was aided by UI. I have other role models but this was one of the few who wasn't a dinosaur.

Boye is a legend! Very happy to see him so successful with Bakke these days. They are arguably the best pair in the world nowadays.

Cheating is headline news in Chess these days, a game of total information. What happens when AI becomes better than human players?

When AI gets better than human players, human players start to study AI playing, and thereby the human players improve. This is currently happening in chess. It doesn't mean they'll catch up though.
