Wow, loved this mate. Really relatable. I suffered with psoriasis for most of my 20s & 30s and went through something very similar to you. It wasn't until my twin boys were around 6 when they reintroduced me to the hobby. We now bond over Pokemon, and like you, I find setting small, attainable goals keeps me focused and happy. I'm now pushing 40, started eating better, and doing the things in life that provide me joy ( theme park visits, collecting pokemon etc)..... Low & behold, my psoriasis is now 90% better. 😃 👍

Dude that’s literally what I say. Pokémon saved my life. This past year i got into it first time as adult because of tik tok live streams. I was homeless sleeping in my new car and gf of 5 years an i split. I was in 4 years sober. Wanting to use again. But collecting again got my mind off being in my car 24/7 if I wasn’t at work. I still don’t listen to music cause I get suicidal. But Pokémon saved me. Still miss my gf. I got promoted to manager at job and make 6k a month after taxes and sleep here so I have thousands to spend on cards lol and save for place one day.

I felt every bit of this video. My daughter got me back into collecting. I used to get a pack every week with my mom when I was younger. She cared nothing about pokemon but she liked to open packs with me. She passed away when I was 12 and after that opening packs just hurt and I stopped. I started watching the anime with my daughter and then she pointed out the card packs at the store one day so, I got us each a pack to open. Sharing this with her brought back so many good memories and I had felt a joy I hadn't in over 2 decades. They joy of sharing our old hobbies with our kids is such a special thing. I realized that there was definitely a piece of me missing over the last few years and without my daughter some of these memories may have faded away.

I have a history of anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia and depression. I always appreciate people talking openly about their mental health issues. It shows that we/you are not alone with this. Pokemon amongst other things is a constant source of joy at the moment, as I play, collect and learn together with my two kids who helped me discover this game being 40 years old and having no nostalgia about it whatsoever... it is a wonderful source for shared experiences. So thanks for sharing and keep moving forward :) !

I can relate man…. My father had full body plaque psoriasis and ever since the age of 12 when I thought to ask him if it was genetic….. I’ve been living in fear….. I can’t live through what he did… I won’t…. And I can’t pass that down to a child. It hasn’t developed…. Yet… but I’ve had several bouts of eczema and I know the pain and depression well…. Apparantly the prime times for these to occur are late teens and late 30s…. Late 30s is when it hit my father …. It destroyed him, I know that now…. I’m coming up on late 30s now myself and still living in fear….. It’s not something I would wish on anyone… I don’t know what I’m going to do, but if I develop full body psoriasis I won’t be here much longer…. Thanks for sharing your story though man.

Mate, I've been literally binging all of your videos for the past week and I've been seeing your subscriber number go up! I love how much you talk about the 'Psychology of Money' cause it's one of my favourite books ever! I also work with social media marketing so I completely relate to your POVs as a marketing professional. And now I was watching this video and it just hit in the feels, dude. I also use Epidemic Sounds for work so when you started playing the song 'Holding On To Hope' by Megan Wofford towards the end of the video, it just broke me, honestly. I've been reflecting about my life so much lately and this song has been my soundtrack for that! Just to say, keep it up! The algorithm is picking up for you and soon you'll be easily hitting 10k and 100k subs!

Wow. I’m blown away by this video and this story. I only just found your channel but I am so glad I did. Your story is beautiful yet heartbreaking at the same time. You are so strong for going through this hardship in your life and coming away as best as you could have hoped. I’m super glad you shared this story as it really resonated with me and my personal experiences. I’m sure it must’ve been a difficult decision to make but I’m glad you did. Please know that you are a beautiful individual who is so talented, hard working, and capable. I found it so sad when you described yourself in such a negative light and I can tell that you are way too hard on yourself. Funnily enough it’s viewers like me who really come away with a changed world too because we get to experience your videos, which might not exist if it weren’t for this whole saga that brought you back to Pokemon card collecting. The way you story tell by weaving narratives into Pokémon card discussion videos is nothing short of incredible. I’ve binged all of your videos in the last few days and I am blown away by the sheer quality of your work. Everything from the editing, to the script, to the stories is just picture perfect and such a reflection of your attention to detail, effort, and persistence. And I definitely know that I will be eagerly awaiting every upload from here on out until the very end. For me, I think it just means so much just to know that I’m supporting someone who is as dedicated to being the best person, father, husband, they can be and is as an amazing person as you are.

Thank you for being so open and honest about your life and your story. Eczema is common, so there are a lot of people who can relate to the feelings of itchiness and redness all over. But there aren't as many people who have severe enough eczema that they can relate to how it changes your perception of yourself. I had really bad eczema growing up, and it was everywhere: on my arms, my legs, and my face. Most people don't realize kids can be cruel, and overly helpful adults aren't any better. If you are insecure about something, no matter what the intention, having your flaws pointed out isn't great, and it can change how you view yourself and the world. It is really inspiring that during your entire story, you held on to your family. Your commitment to your family and faith in those connections is admirable. I hope you and your daughter can continue to enjoy the Nintendo to its fullest.

This resonated with me something crazy. Was killing things a few years ago, family life went of the rails, depression hit, anxiety hit, literally found myself sitting in room playing Gold Silver on an emulator to try and get away from things, I used to play these games for hours in between sports as a kid. KZitem suggestions started popping up on the Cards, something I was crazy about as a kid. I did a little research, bought 5 packs of 151 and honestly enjoyed them more than what I did as a 7 year old. It got me back into a hobby which reminds me of a time in life when I didn't even understand depression and had no reason to, I was happy! I was also ripped and a lot healthier a few years ago, big arms, pecs, six pack, lats, blah blah, I need to get back into it because the good it does you along with regular cardio and a good diet is insane, you've just convinced me next week is the week it starts. Im so glad you've got a beautiful partner and a child to keep you going if things ever get bad again (I see no reason as to why the will for you) You make great content, you're smart, well spoken and talk on topics that are engaging. Plus if this all continues these cards might just set ya up for retirement or more financially. I subscribed to you months back but this was a great video brother! All the best and thankyou!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Thanks for sharing this and glad you're now healthy and in a better place both physically and mentally. It might not seem important, but we grew up with Pokemon and having something familiar to enjoy as a hobby is therapeutic in its own way. I've played the Pokemon games/ collected the cards on and off over the years and it's always been a constant in my life i can fall back on. A place of comfort.

This was very inspiring. I just got back into Pokemon and I got emotional when you talked about feeling that young joy again like when we were just kids playing with cards at recess. The nostalgia is like nothing else. Cheers mate, you have a life long follower here 🙏

Thank you for sharing such a vulnerable time you had and giving people who may be going through similar feelings some courage and comfort that there is a way forward. I really relate to the “men are allowed to talk about their feelings and depression” but there is still such a strong stigma and people don’t really want to hear it still. Having being going through a journey of recovery and depression myself your journey gives me a lot of hope. Thank you for sharing. Always have a supporter in me now

I can kind of relate to you my man now being 38yrs father of 2 about 2 years ago I randomly got diagnosed with Psoriasis which was crazy because considered to my family and friends I'm the health and exercise nut telling everyone to eat right , exercise and when I went to the so-called skin doctors Well all they told me was oh it happens for no reason no cure for it and it is common just get used to it and all they want to do is give you creams 😑 Fast Forward>> today my son 10yrs and I go 1 once a month to Card Cons to get some more pokémon cards and for those 4hrs we are running around I truly forget about lives headaches and enjoy the moment with my family.

Appreciate sharing your story. The older you get the more you realise how important having a hobby, sport or pesonal interest in your life is. Do the things that make you happy in life. You will be a better person for yourself and the loved ones around you. One thing that i love about Pokemon collecting and investing is all the amazing friends and people i have met a long the way. It is truly a great community to be a part of.

This made me cry cause this exactly what I’ve been going through past decade. Drugs, rehabs, overdoses, suicide attempts and living with ulcerative colitis that’s been dehumanizing and crippling and embarrassing and debilitating and extremely painful. Through the break up of five years, living in my car, no happiness for a long time. My mom dying 4 years ago and wondering why I’m even sober. Family being distant. Always alone. Pokémon def gave me something to look forward to daily. I wish it didn’t cost so much money tho lol

You’re an inspiration to others, and even as a hopeful father to be one day I really treasure your value on family and relationships and hope to emulate such passion in my life in the years to come. Keep up the great work, and thank you for even just helping remind me, one solemn viewer who really enjoys seeing you post pieces of content, that we’re all human and we’re all in this together 👍

Thank you so much for this video. I suffered from depression and burnout myself. From that experience on I cherish appreciation for the small things in life - like the beauty of opening a pack and admiring beautiful cards. It moves my heart deeply to listen to such a strong dad story of yours. Like so many boomer generation parents, my dad was an overworker and didnt show up a lot for me. He chose the "be strong and dont complain" path and bought me some nice things but playing or having fun wasnt a thing for him. I'm sure your daughter will remember all the good moments you had together and the memories will give her the strength she needs in life. Thank you for your openness.

This reminds me a lot of back in the day when I was in high school struggling with severe acne, exactly how you described, both physical and emotional pain. Just like you, my outlet though was making music at the time which has since brought me around to the hobby again, winding up here on your video. Sorry you had to go through that man, especially with the responsibility of being a father. It's great to hear you found your way out of it and on your own terms! Much love and appreciate this video❤️

I went through a similar thing mate. Just without the skin issues. Mine was mental. I had vertigo for months straight.. vomiting everyday, it was horrendous. Got MRI’s / battled it for months that it left me on antidepressants for 2 years because I was that anxious of going anywhere. I remember I was with my family at Movie world at the GG and we passed through the gate then I started crying my eyes out and I seen the disappointed on my wife’s face. I felt such a liability to my wife and little kids, I wanted to take my life. This went on for 2 years. I literally had nothing left. I found Jesus at the end of it and have a connection to a higher power and I’m the best I’ve ever been in my life (33 years old now) I’ve just got back into Pokémon and found your channel. Fellow Aussie! Thanks for sharing your story.

Theres some things youve made me realize and that is it having a job and money is okay, but having time for a family is probably the most important out of the 3. Seeing that big smile made me tear up because i dont ever want to miss those happy moment with my future kids. You're 100% right when you say enjoy the little things because thats what makes live much more fun and amazing; have something to look forward to, even if its something small like sleeping or eating or a new game coming out. Thank you
