On the eve of Passover in 33, Pontius Pilate presided over the trial of an itinerant preacher from the provincial backwater of Nazareth. He had no way of knowing that his decision to condemn that man to death by crucifixion would end up being one of the most momentous decisions in history and one that would secure him immortality, cementing his place as the most famous Roman to ever live.
This documentary examines the life of Pontius Pilate and how he came to be the Roman governor of Judea at a time when the province was a hotspot for rebellion.
