Although not a pro cyclist by any means, I had my fair share of training collegiately for cross country in Omaha NE. For me, a big part was having a solid “why”. It got me out of bed and running whether it’s was 100 or -5 degrees. Another big part was figuring out layering as well as just getting used to the cold. Even now, as an aspiring professional Ultrarunner and manual laborer, when it’s cold, you just dress appropriately and get out there! Thanks for your video and the insight. Definitely helpful for me in my goals! Peace.

Great vid @Tristan, stumbled across your channel having had a video or two suggested by the YT algorithm. Having watched this and several other videos of your rides with the pros, it seems there’s a few of them using bar bags which I haven’t seen before other than old school touring cyclists. So 2 questions: 1) do you know (or can you find out) what brand & models they are using 2) what are they putting in them? Cheers

Hey Andy, I use the Attaquer Adventure bar bag. I’m not sure on the other guys. There are lots of different options out there. They put whatever they don’t want to carry in their jersey in them..spare kit and food usually.

Question for a knowledgeable cyclist like yourself because I'm new. So my first year my training wasn't even structured until the end of the year I went from 200 watts to 270 to 280 ftp at 85kg. Would it be reasonable to go from 280ftp to 330ftp or so this second year with more structured training?
@tristantakevideo
2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely no doubt about it. With the right training you could get to 330 by July. I'll aim to put out some more training-specific videos in time, but it'd also be worth speaking to a cycling coach to help get you there sooner.

Hi Tristan I love the videos and you're a real inspiration. I am a 14 yr old boy from Tasmania and I have a secound hand Giant Zero Ocr and I love it so much but what is your recommendation for a road bike that I can do 100ks a week in that is low maintenance. keep up the good work.
@tristantakevideo
7 ай бұрын
Hey man, the Giant OCR is a great bike..no need to change for anything else just yet. Any bike will last plenty of years as long as you keep the drivetrain clean and the chain lubricated, and also replace the brake pads when needed. Riding 100k’s a week you’ll get years and years out of a bike. Glad to be of some inspiration and hope the riding keeps going well. 🙏🏼
