One thing that usually fails on these trucks is the oil pressure gauge that you're talking about here in your video what it will do is it will start flickering and once it does that that's a sign of it going out it won't go out right then and there it will take some time for it to actually break took about 2 years for mine to actually break cost me about $375 to fix it parts and labor

I love my 01 Sierra, one thing I’m very impressed with is the 4x4. I’m coming from Ford trucks (F250 and Ranger) and 4x4 on them was okay compared to this. This is more impressive than anything

Chevy, Gm 4x4 V8 are the best. The 4x4 dose not slow the truck down. They are so well built. Like a rock 🪨 lmfao

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra SLE extended cab 5.3 l V8 two-wheel drive with 120,000 mi on it I just installed a Cat-Back exhaust system flowmaster definitely definitely worth the investment and makes driving the truck very very entertaining and very fun and if you're thinking about doing it you want to install the flowmaster super 10 muffler total cost out the door for installation and parts labor $700.00 US

My 99 Sierra SLE now has 134k miles. Still runs strong. Bought brand new way back. Got JBA shorty headers and a Magna Flow exhaust. Plan on keeping for a long time. These are definitely great trucks. Probably more reliable then the newer ones.

Mine is been a complete money pit but what do you expect for a 2001 GMC Sierra SLE short bed extended cab two wheel drive 5.3 l V8 285 horsepower this truck is going on twenty-three years old so I have to remember that the truck is really old but I'm still not happy with investing over $10,000 in the truck with in the past two years it's been a lot of money put into this thing and my mechanic is telling me I'm still not done yet after the mechanics are done I have to replace the left quarter panel and my auto body guy told me the right side is probably going to need it within the next two to three years anyway so he said it's up to you replace both or replace one I'm not messing with this anymore so I'm replacing both of them and getting all body work done to this in one shot. it's been taking me awhile to save up because bodywork is not cheap and I want to try to get this truck to almost so room condition it's been taking me quite a while to get this truck back in order I didn't think that I would have to invest so much money but you have to realize the truck is old but these trucks are die-hard once they get fixed they stay fixed for a long time my family owned a Chevy dealership for over fifty years and they recently just sold it and I remember seeing these trucks on the showroom floor all the time I drove them before when they had 600 700 mi on them. And let me tell you these things had major balls when they were brand new and my truck still has the same acceleration it had when the first day I bought it. My truck has 122,612 MIles on it has of March 12th 2023 I have fixed a lot of stuff in this truck new drive shaft all four wheel bearing hub assemblies replaced. New sway bar new sway bar links and bushings new spark plugs wires coil packs check out to be okay did not need to replace any. New battery new AC belt tensioner pulley new tensioner pulley belt new throttle position sensor new m a p sensor new flowmaster FX dual exhaust system. Added 22 extra horsepower plus added a k&n cold induction air intake system it added 11 horsepower plus I replaced half of the fuel lines replace the fuel line in the gas tank it needed a new gas tank funnel where you fill your tank that whole funnel was rotted I had to replace the whole thing. New power window motors and switches driver side passenger side new fan switch that controls the speed of the fan. New fan motor inside the truck. A new cable for the transmission that controls the truck how it shifts that was replaced. New shocks all four of them all new brakes calipers and rotors pads all the way around new emergency brake hardware 100% everything replaced. Four new tires new ABS module now that was freaking a lot. That's basically all the stuff I can remember there was a little bit more I put into it but that was basically it and that cost me right there over 10 grand all one of the thing I redid the entire frame $4,200 this truck cost me a lot of money and I'm still not done with her yet.

I added the truck to the dino after I installed the Cat-Back exhaust system and I gained seven horsepower from adding the Cat-Back exhaust system not a hell of a lot but I didn't add it for a power game I added it to make it sound good and look good the horsepower gain was just a bonus 292 horsepower now

@@povnelson2019 no you do not I do see a lot of them up here in New Hampshire where I'm from you have to remember New Hampshire is basically a redneck state so well a northern redneck state and I would say 70% of the vehicles on the road or pickup trucks and you do see quite a few GMC Sierras of my year they're mixed I see some 2003 model some 2004 models 2005 models I see a couple 2007 classic models I know a guy that has a 2007 GMC Sierra classic and he has over 400,000 miles on his 5.3 l and another guy I know has the same year Sierra as me with the 5.3 l and his has 306,000 on the tachometer original everything sure he's had to fix some things on the old girl but everything's original basically I've just invested close to $10,000 in repairs in mind and when that happened it was like a sudden kick to the balls that's a chunk of change to throw out on a 21-year-old truck but the money that I've already invested in her and I fell in love with her the day I bought her there's no way in hell I'm getting rid of her they don't make these trucks anymore and they don't make them reliable anymore unfortunately

@@povnelson2019 when a truck gets 21 years old you have to do a rejuvenation on the suspension system it's just a must you have to or you're going to have a crappy bumpy ride so I replace the shocks the coil springs upper and lower control arms ball joints upper and lower inner and outer tie rods both sides and all four wheel bearing hub assemblies replace the drive shaft did rear differential work replace the rear differential backing plate and bolts replace with it all with new fluid transmission drain new filter tune-up plugs wires new battery belts had the AC fixed was a AC compressor and lines that cost a lot so you can imagine the money I have invested in my truck and I just got done adding a cat back dual exhaust system from flowmaster FX dual exhaust system wow what a difference do anybody that has these trucks definitely definitely is a good good thing to do adding a dual exhaust system makes it even more fun to drive the truck.
