We use tape at my work on the roadway but only with the use of screed application where we pour, squeegee and roll on the paint. Typically MMA paint. If we are spraying we use plexi puck boards with a quick spray of WD-40 for easy cleaning.

That what we used. Stencils cut out of aluminum. We could lay it down where it goes and not have to worry about it moving when the wind blows or cars drive by. Unless we were using plastic. Then we would layout the turn arrows by hand. Come back and lay the plastic over it. Even doing RR crossing symbols. One summer I had to start in southern Oklahoma and follow the BNSF Railroad tracks into NW Arkansas. Every place that the tracks crossed a road my crew and I had to lay down the RXR and stop bars and yellow lines 250’ in either direction… if there was enough room. I would have them layout for a couple of days in a town then fire up the burners on the truck and melt the plastic and stripe all day long. That was one hell of a hot summer. The white plastic was 450*, the yellow was 400*. Plus the damn summer heat made it hell. That shit will burn the piss out of you too. Still got the scars to prove it.

I too am in southern Australia! Think maybe this is warehouse stuff coz you don’t usually see this kind of thick yellow on the road?
@StraightSh00t3r
Жыл бұрын
@@longdongsilver492 that thick yellow paint is actually “Class 3 rubbeized paint.” They use Class 4 on airport taxiways and runways. It is very thick. You have to use a lot of thinner to get it to flow thru a gun.

This is road paint and that's actually how alot of people do crossings with stencils of some sort Wether it be tape or sheet metal or plastic stencils and stencils usually hand sprayed can't go using the buggy for a crossing unless your moving with the machine

The glass beads that the second guy puts down before he’s done painting will have no effect because the first guy paints over them. You should paint all of the line or symbol and then put the glass beads down so the beads are reflective and not painted over. Did this for about 5 or so years. I’ve used paint and thermoplastic along with buttons and other things to delineate road surfaces. So, I kinda know about that.
