The west treated Africa like a charity case, due to their superiority complex and their racism towards blacks. China saw Africa as a future growth engine where the could potential make trillions in the future. 70% of Africans are younger than 25, making Africa the youngest potential work force in the world. Africa population is set to increase to 2.5 billion by 2050 and 4.3 billion people by 2100. China understand this demographic potential. China will make far more money with Africa having a large middle income population buying Chinese goods and services than exploiting Africa like the West has done for the past 400 years. Short term stealing African resources won't make you as much money as people buying your products.

One of the pillars of so-called White Supremacy is Africa being a so-called "sh*t-hole". They get great pleasure from African poverty and disease etc. You can see it in the comment of any video showing Africa in a bad light, they literally love it. They don't want a middle class in Africa, they want Africans to be dirt poor. They will do EVERYTHING in their power to stop Africa from developing as a developed Africa would be a major blow for each and every one of them personally. @adukuttan rocks _”When I say that they are illusions, I must define the meaning of the word. An illusion is not the same as an error, it is indeed not necessarily an error. It is characteristic of the illusion that it is derived from men’s wishes; in this respect it approaches the psychiatric delusion, but it is to be distinguished from this, quite apart from the more complicated structure of the latter. In the delusion we emphasize as essential the conflict with reality; the illusion need not be necessarily false, that is to say, unrealizable or incompatible with reality. Thus we call a belief an illusion when _*_wish-fulfilment_*_ is a prominent factor in its motivation, while disregarding its relations to reality, just as the illusion itself does.”_ Sigmund Freud, 1899 Enjoy your tent and opioids.

I hope all the countries on the continent will someday catch up with you and then we will reestablish Kemet known by many as the United State of Africa. This is the only solution because if we don't do that we will never get a seat at the table. Ethiopia alone will not be able to handle countries like the USA or China on a political level we need to unite. Everywhere in Africa we say that" We can always find solution to problem as long as we sit and talk" especially without foreigners at the table. A United States of Africa has been talked about since Ghanaian independence 60 years ago. It is nowhere nearer to becoming a reality than it was then and it will never be a reality, simply because Africa is a continent. Nobody is calling for a United Europe, nobody is calling for a United Asia because it is obviously not possible. Yet Africans waste all their time discussing things that will never be possible instead of discussing those that are. Food security, low child mortality rate, clean drinking water, quality affordable healthcare, electricity. These are things that are achievable but that most Africans don't have. Yet you insist on building castles in the sky and when these problems are mentioned, you resort to calling others racist. Think! Ethiopia has a population of 100 million people, if Ethiopia can't handle the USA or China alone, thwn a United States of Africa will also be unable to handle China or the Us

@@macberry4048 You say that like the smartphone is insignificant. Mobile phones in Africa allowed one of the first widely used mobile payment systems to come into existence: M-Pesa was used in Kenya and Tanzania in 2007 developed by British Vodafone, Kenyan Safaricom and South African Vodacom. Well before WeChat pay (2013), Bitcoin (2009), NFC (2011-MasterCard PayPass), and Apple pay (2014) Because the African context made it dangerous to handle money and conduct retail banking, M-Pesa allowed money transfers without handling or carying money. The African context is important because like in the video it shows the development of an FM radio dongle. While music streaming services are popular outside of Africa, Africans still rely on FM signals to get music and info so many internet services like Spotify are kind of pointless because of the unreliable internet. Yet the iPhone and many other computing devices do not come with FM radio, analogue TV receivers, or Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) which are popular wireless standards in the African context. Samsung or Nokia will usually have developing world variants that differentiate themselves from a North American or European version with an FM radio and/or a dual sim For many Africans the smartphone is the one and only computing experience that has meaning in their lives. Just basic things like time keeping, weather forecasts, calculations, translations, and searching for an answer can be achieved with a phone.

Love Ethiopia as a Chinese American! Africa(n)'s destiny is to be covered head to toe in jewels and be a cradle of civilization again! The West, which unfortunately still controls much of the news in Africa and the whole world of course, will do everything it can to destroy this relationship as it always does. I fear Ethiopia will be the target next of CIA meddling

In his environment the Tecno has more functions than the iPhone especially with the FM radio and the dual Sim configuration and expandable storage. To someone who cares about these features, the Tecno is better but not to those of us who care about the software and the other experiences.

"then if they try to cheat us, ok. or we have to fight that i know. at least it's something between partners" So you know you're probably gonna get cheated but at least you're being cheated by a partner? seems a bit short sighted.
@aaronabunu2725

Well, he means even if theirs a chance they'll get cheated by this company, it's a much better relationship than a small African company could normally leverage. Most other opportunities for investment in the past and now involves the exploitation and little to no voice. So "it's something between partners" a relatively great relationship.

Nerd or rich people immigrate to the USA for economic reasons from Asia and Africa. They live in the elitist bubble and do not get the local culture that's why silicon valley could win this market. China provides an opportunity for those left behind who are not nerd nor rich. I am not a nerd or rich guy to afford higher the USA. Learning Mandarin and getting hired by a Chinese giant is a practical option for me to pursue an international career in the corporate world, I feel disgusted by China's human rights records. Japan has stopped the innovation, that's how China attracts talents who are hungry for opportunity.
