As soon as she stopped singing... I had an epiphany. Ive always felt i couldnt create a song with any depth if the lyrics didnt come first.. Literally 10 years of my life.. Ive been looking for something to break my writers block... What ive realized listening to the first minute and a half is that true feeling and depth cannot always be expressed in words so simply.. Theres nothing more plainly beautiful than the immediate feel a moment can bring us.. Sometimes there are no words... Feeling expressed in melody.. Comes naturally. Words can be found afterwards if at all. Thank you SIA! Ive just been inspired... And im sorry for taking up so much comment space but this is kind of a big deal for me((: 💕

I agree with you, melody will always bring the words, what do you think of my lyrics for it, that's what came to me instantly when listening to the melody. I guess how you're feeling reflex the words that come into it... x
@empowermph
6 жыл бұрын
yea..its the emotional hum 1st, then the lyrics follow..maybe the muse & theme 1st..a current love or ex, social stuff, current events isht, then hum how you feel about it..then the words. but if the words are profound, write them down 1st..& if they don't fit the melodic rhythm of the 1st song, maybe 2nd. ive been studying the greats, from the Beatles to ABBA, Ace of Base, Sia..they all do this thing where they keep the writing stage humorous, sing about french fries or something, then replace it later.

She is really talented. And the reason for her talent is obviously her absolute devotion to music over all these years and she actually is really really intelligent ! I mean she improvised notes for a song and recognised a hook while doing that and then repeated the hook with different notes to create a chorus and she says in the end it's definitely a young song ! This my friends is what being a genius looks like !

After searching for this song for a long time now I think I have it. It's "My heart is open" by Maroon 5 and Gwen Stefani. It's said that Adam Levine did take the song in a bit of a different direction but you can still feel the same likenesses in this demo.During the chorus of the M5 song, the first two notes sung to "YEA" is the first two notes to the chorus here. They are both the 5 and the 3 in their relative scales.
