The planet is changing, but why aren't we? With so much emphasis placed on government and industry actions to manage climate change, it's easy for people to get discouraged and feel anxious and powerless. But, is one person actually powerful in saving the planet and do our individual actions make a difference? According to political strategist-turned-sustainability expert, journalist, and author, Ashlee Piper, the answer is Yes! In this talk, Piper reconnects us with our personal power and shows why taking action for the planet is not only the key ingredient to saving it, but is also incredibly effective, contagious, and good for our personal and collective well-being.
Ashlee Piper has been seen on The TODAY Show, Good Morning America, and NBC Nightly News, and her journalism has been featured in The Washington Post, InStyle, and NY Magazine. Piper believes in the power of our individual habits and creating the ideal conditions for anyone to make small, sustainable shifts. Piper recently published her first book, Give A Sh*t: Do Good. Live Better. Save the Planet. She's consulted with well-known companies such as airbnb, Nissan, and Eileen Fisher, has been a cabinet-level advisor to two Massachusetts Governors, and has spoken at the United Nations. She holds a BA from Brown University and a Masters degree in Evidence-Based Social Intervention from the University of Oxford, UK.
