Reid's Yellow Dent, which I think was the base genetics you started crossing, is more susceptible to smut than other varieties, but it's a small percentage of the crop and Reid's has many other positive benefits. I have a 14ft stalk of Reids standing in a corner of my Foyer that I cut from my field at a prior harvest. Corn roots have been found six and eight foot deep, so you may be ok through a drought if the water table is high enough they can reach it now.

Good day Thursday Mr Danny and Ms Wanda.. evidently I am in the 33rd parallel evidently in Northeast Texas close to the border of Oklahoma and Texarkana and it has been crazy weather for the past 3 or more weeks I mean I've had golf ball-sized hail to almost softball size and down to a quarter size.. I don't know how many inches of rain flash flooding straight line winds numerous tornadoes all around me Crossing America in pretty bad I understand in the Lower South there's parts of Texas in a terrible drought.... they close the very last sugar cane Factory due to drought.. is sad there used to be so many when I was a kid. Didn't have a chance to plant know Danny corn and if I did it would have got destroyed hoping I can plant my seeds next year.. keeping them Frozen .. Happy to see the Danny corn looks fantastic.. kind of sad to see all the cows go but they're all going to good homes I'm sure you're making sure that.. hopefully they know how to handle them welfare cows😂 Always sending appreciate sharing your knowledge That slut stuff sells pretty high it's kind of like a truffles very expensive actually..❤

Can you explain to me about brace roots and why they are good to have?
@vickisavage8929
4 ай бұрын
Brace roots come out from the stalk at the leaf nodes, from the bottom up, and literally help brace the stalk and,like the bottom roots, draw moisture and nourishment from the soil. Brace roots are also known to exude sweet stuff that attracts beneficial mycelia (da fungus among us 😉) which provide minerals and other nutrients. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship.
