Is this the ultrarunning performance of the year? Is this the ultrarunning performance of an entire generation? Let me know in the comments below!

This may be the ultrarunning performance of the year but it will not be of an entire generation. I strongly suspect we will see many more fantastic ultraruns from Tara Dower.

Warren Doyle was SO wrong in his interview with Finn when he said Tara would never break the FKT.

Hard to argue against it, even in a year with so much excellence (like Jasmin Paris completing the Barkley)

Giving an interview less than 48 hours after completing the AT FKT? Now that might be performance of the year!! Lol

Tara, you are an incredible person and athlete. What an accomplishment this FKT was. You just keep racking up one amazing performance after another and you have always seemed so humble. You are so exciting to follow. Keep on being Tara. Congratulations! Edited to say, CONGRATS TO YOUR ENTIRE FABULOUS CREW!

Tara's Appalachian Trail FKT is absolutely a generational athletic performance! I didn't see this coming. Had my head down in my own work this summer. WOW! After Hardrock!? Tara's The G.O.A.T. 40 days is spectacular. Can anyone break 40 days?
@runsingletrack

It will be a the new quest (sub 40)..I wonder how much activity we will see on the trail next summer
@guydaley

Good question, REALLY good question because who can afford to take this much time off AND have a big crew chasing you down the trail taking that much time off from work unless you're independently wealthy? The entire nation is struggling with out of control living costs with a huge percentage living paycheck to paycheck but there is no doubt the PHYSICAL achievement borders on inhuman. Just how many people were involved in this record breaking attempt? Also, what kind of miracle shoe would allow someone to do this without creating massive blisters and having your skin slough off?

There's a single point that everyone must subscribe to? Wouldn't you say everyone's individual style should be celebrated, or at least tolerated? I love all kinds of thru-hikes, personally!

Congratulations Tara Dower ( Candy Momma) on your FKT of the AT! I watched Scott Beneroffe’s (Aquaman’s) winter AT hike as he posted them. He is an amazingly positive person. So glad he was such a great help to you in getting through the tough stuff in the Whites. Blessings to you both.

I don’t know how this was humanly possible without taking a lot of Adderall which I don’t think she did, her brain is the Adderall. I mean she was awake for 17 hours a day. That’s literally insane. Tara did Navy Seal Hell Week for a month and this was even harder.

Tara talking about being so hot that she thought about hiking naked reminds me of Nick Fowler's book Itch wherein he described hiking almost the entire Pacific Northwest Trail naked because he had such intense chafing problems.

Isn't imposter syndrome when you think someone you know isn't really that person? It's an actual physical brain condition in my understanding.
@buckeyejen1076
7 күн бұрын
No. Essentially, imposter syndrome is the faulty feeling of not measuring up, or that you don't really deserve a compliment or accomplishment.
@drytool

@@buckeyejen1076 I'm thinking of some other condition that must be called something else even though the term kind of fits. Thanks.
